I met a friend who had a labrador who he loved so much. When I asked him about his pet, he suddenly became sad and told me that his labrador died. It happened when a friend of his who works in China started sending him loads of dog food from that place. His dog was in perfect health before this, but when he started feeding him this dog food from China, a month after his dog died. Before the dog died, it suffered because it had difficulty urinating. His other friends also had the same experience with their dogs which had been fed with that dog food from China. All of them also had difficulty urinating and died after a month of eating that kind of dog food. That is why I am feeding my pet dogs with human food, but now I sometimes buy a little dog food of good kind and put a little only to be mixed with real food. Please share your experiences regarding dog food.

Regardless of where the dog food came from, owners must first LOOK and CHECK the ingredients of the dog food they are buying that must be easily seen and located at the back of the label / package. The ingredients should contain beef / chicken / liver, not beef-by-products or the like, not grain, not corn, but a meat! checking on that can save your dog from harmful ingredients manufacturers have fond mixing on our canine dog food. table food is a better option, just removed the bones and other parts that may cause injuries on your dog's stomach. laso t=dont over feed them as they are also prone of being obese. feed him healthy vegetables and fruits. Avoid chocolates and macadamia nuts, grapes as they are very very poisonous to our beloved dogs.

Oh, thanks a lot Gelay for that very informative post. That is why my lab did not eat the piece of grape I gave him. I did not know it's bad for him.

You're welcome. Grapes and even raisins is a No-No for dogs. it will only take few pieces of them and you might lose your dog, so be careful to place these foods out of your dog's reach. You can search for the complete list of foods that cannot be given to dogs at the web, there are many. :)

That is so sad and equally terrible, you never expect that just by feeding your dog you are inadvertently killing them. I have only ever had one dog, I am more a cat person, we had a cairn terrier and he used to prefer human food than his own food which he would often turn his nose up at, and yet he would cry for brussel sprouts and cheese! Yet the amount of human food he ate he lived to a grand old age! Sometimes dog food is not always best it seems.

Yeah, because it is processed food and it is supposed to last a long time, so what are they putting in there to preserve it? My dogs don't eat dog food if I do not mix it with real food. Even then, I only mix a cup of it with the real food for the three dogs.

Poor Doggy! I would have rather shared my food if the chinese food was not doing him good. I feel authorities should check on the food they supply, to prevent further damages to the pets.

For humans we have the BFD but for dogs, who checks what they are selling for our poor pets?

Authorities? They even don't care if food for human is safety. Food industries can re-open after their food poisoned people,as long as they have money.

hi Cutie there must have been something poisonous to dogs in it something that attacked their kidneys. thats just awful. I bought some candy made in china and ate two pieces and my mouth burned from it. .so I did not eat anymore then the next day the skin peeled off my mouth so there was something toxic to the lining in my mouth.I could not check the ingredients as they were all in Chinese. lol I took the candyh and flushed it down the toilet so nobody else would eat it and get sick.

Oh my! That is why I always prohibit the kid not to eat any candy from China. The candies look so cute with different shapes and color but I do not trust them.

Oh the Chinese, they do everything to mass produce and make money. Hmm, that's just really sad. If you love something, you must always give them quality. Oh my goodness, that is just sad.

Terrible to think about what these people would do to make money and to gain power over others.

That's true, the things bought from there might even be made through child trafficking.

it is vary sad for the mans loss but one thing i have learned over the years is try to never ever change a pets diet also for you feeding your pet human food is not always the best thing to do as there are good things a dog or cat needs in the food that we give them that is not in what we eat that you give them off the table that is just a FYI have a great day

It could just be coincidence. I'm not sure if human food is good for dogs either. I'd talk to a vet to find out forsure.

Wow that is so sad. I guess that is why I am so skeptical of what I feed my dogs and now from reading this I will make sure that I don't feed my dogs any dog food from China. I haven't been feeding my dogs people food, because I don't know how they would handle it and plus I wouldn't know what I would feed them, because I want to make sure they had all their nutrition. I wonder if maybe I could cook their food and then give them doggy vitamins so they have all their nutrients. But for now I just read what is on the label and the dog food that I have been feeding them with they have been doing really well with. I used to feed my dogs IAMs and my one dog was not doing so good with it. He would always get sick with it and always have diarhea and throwing up. But now I have been feeding them with Beneful and they have never gotten sick with and actually it gives them more energy. So I've been feeding them with that and they have been doing well with it.

First of all, my condolences for what happened to your pet. With regards to dog food, I only buy branded dog foods that have been in the market for years such as Pedigree, Purina, etc. I also only trust what my dogs' veterinarian recommends regarding food. Sometimes, I give them home-cooked food and other times just those popular dog food.

Thanks for the heads up, even though I really don't buy food form that area.My vet usually orders it for the shop and I'm confident that she sells quality dog supply and needs even it's a bit pricey.
