not as many people watch the news anymore. i know don't because it can be quite depressing. i also don't like how the media is so strong and manipulative at creating public opinion. when i want to know what's going on, i get my news from the internet. do you still watch the news?

We still watch the news on tv. My father tunes in to national news tv by 7pm or 10pm. Other times when there's a tsunami alert or typhoon alert we watch the tv for it.

you must live in a place where there are a lot of tsunami threats. do you live in japan? i guess if i lived in a place that can get tsunami's i would want to watch the news sometime, too.

I don't watch the news, I also don't read the news paper. I find that both sources always focus on the negative things in life and it can bring a person down. I don't like negativity. I get angry when I see or hear about all the injustices of the world so I try to avoid it. I am like you, if I want to know about something I will look up information online.

oh, that paper is just boring. the only thing i like about the paper is the sunday paper, that has all the extra stuff like mini magazines and cupons.

There's enough doom and gloom going on without having it thrust into your face when you open the newspaper or turn on the news, so I tend to avoid it, usually it tends me make me angry, easy solution turn the news off and don't read a paper, I get by easily doing the two.

Yes, I still watch the news, though I agree with what you said. Most of the news are really depressing. There's this news that's my favorite because I love the newscaster. She has a good reputation I never heard her name related to any politician. If some news anchors or tv network gets involved with a politician, it has a negative effect on a lot of people. I get to read most news on internet too.

I don't watch the news because I don't watch TV and because your right it is SO depressing most of the time! I don't want to hear about all of the bad things that are happening in the area, I already know bad things happen every day. I don't need to hear about all of that all the time...

I prefer to watch the news than searching informations on the internet. One reason for that is that TV media (though may manipulate some facts a little) are doing all the work for me. They are selecting the most important news of the day for me and they serve it in short form so I don't need to waste my time on searching and reading bunch of trash before I stumble on something important. Besides TV news can't manipulate facts too much as they are closely watched and monitored. It's a lot harder to track some not so impartial article on the Internet.

you make a really good point. i never thought about it like that. i still would rather go fishing for my news than having to watch the one on television.
