I Have Been So Busy!

Hey everyone. I am so glad to be here for a little while tonight before I head to bed. I am so sleepy tonight.
We have been painting our house the past few days, I am getting more clients for my Childcare so we are trying to make it look a little better in here. =)It is SO much work though!
My husband got laid off from work so he is trying to get his own company going again. He is tired of working for other people and being laid off in such a short amount of time. The company he was working for is losing business so they laid everyone off at least for 6 months! We are hoping for success with his company again...
We went to my older sister's house in Virginia for my niece's birthday party this past weekend. It was a really nice visit and of course my kids did not want to leave. That made me happy though because when we go on our vacation in April my older sister is the one who my kids will be staying with, so I'm glad they love it there so much!
So, tomorrow I will be here more I hope, in between painting the house and taking care of the kids! Lol, I am so busy lately...I miss being here with everyone!

It's great that you are getting more clients for your childcare business. The more that you fix up the house and the more ways in which you can project a professional image, the more successful the business should be--hopefully to the point where you are one day expanding the business into its own building.
Hopefully, your husband's business will take off as well. I can definitely appreciate his desire to work for himself. Being one's own boss is generally preferable.

Yes I am excited that the Childcare business is growing! =) I hope I can keep getting more clients. We are trying to make it look better so I can get more business.
I hope my husband's business starts to build because him being laid off every few months is just not working at all for us. Things are tough in this economy though so I am just hoping it works...

HI LMB!
It is nice to see you here on mylot. I was thinking where were hiding all these days, as no new discussion was coming up from your end.
It is sorry to hear that your hubby is job-less for the time being. Be hopeful, he has talents and skills, he would surely get another job soon.
Nice to hear that you had been to a birthday party and you enjoyed it and above all kids were the happiest of lots.
Hope to see you more on mylot.

Thanks, the kids were so happy! They really had a blast.

I am very glad to hear that your business is doing so well. I hope your husband is able to get his business going too. He could help you until it does. Good to hear that who you want to care for your children when you two go on your long awaited and much needed vacation will be positive for them. Miss having you here but am happy to hear things are going well for you.

So your business in really doing great! Congratulations! You could be starting a very big business in the long run. I mean, if there would be a lot of kids under your care, you can ask another person to help you with it, right? Just like having a sort of pre-school set-up. I have also wished to have that kind of business before, but, well, there were a lot of "tweety birds" destroying my ideas.

Your love for children did make a difference not only to your own kids but for others as well. I wish that your business with be really successful. I am thinking of the movie, "Daddy's Day out". And the place could be a riot, but seeing them grow and learn something from you will be an achievement.

Thank you! I am excited about it. =) If my business gets big enough than I will hire someone to help me. Right now its not big enough though...
I have done this for a long time now, on and off for 13 years. I didn't let anyone stop me because the one thing I am good at in this world is taking care of children.

And things were starting to look up for your husband, I am sorry to hear of this, seems everywhere you go people are being laid off left right and centre. I hope he's successful in getting his own company going. Good to see you back here my friend. I can't believe it's mid February, time is flying past, still a good thing the evenings are drawing out and Spring will soon be here, yah!

Yeah they were... It keeps happening here. So many people are losing their jobs. It is so sad.
I hope he starts getting some calls for his company, otherwise I am not sure what we are going to do...I am just trying to keep my faith strong so I don't start panicking.

Life goes on outside of MyLot, but being with your friends is fun. We need to do tons of fixing up on our house. I hope all continues to go well for your childcare and that your husband can successfully launch his own business as well.

Do not give up, but keep on doing it a little at a time, that way you will not end up like me as an old lady with a house falling down around you.

Yes life does go on outside of here but boy have I missed being here! My house needs a ton of work too but we can only afford to do a little at a time... First it is painting but we need all new trim, roof repairs, a fence, door knobs replaced and some sheet rock replaced... We will do one thing at a time.
Thanks I hope business picks up more for my husband and I. I know this economy is tough right now so I just hope he can get some work...

hopefully everything works out for your hubby. the last time my hubby was out of work was a couple of years ago and he was out of work for 9 months. we were so blessed that we had mortgage insurance (the company paid our mortgage for the whole 9 months) or we would have probably lost the house. times are tough but hang in there, there is always hope.

Yeah my husband was out of work last time for a year! We were struggling so badly at the time! This economy is just horrible. I really hope his company gets clients because jobs are hard to find everywhere... We are hoping and praying for the best.

Hi Sugar, happy to see you back! I was getting a bit worried but noticed you were around here and there responding once in a while.
So your business is picking up? Is it because of that one client you like so much? It sure is good to hear regardless.
I'm sorry about your husband. Is he able to collect unemployment since he's been there a couple of months? That would help a little if he can. Don't forget food stamps are available too.
Painting always makes the house look nicer, even though I know how much work it is. When it's all done, you'll have a smile on your face!

Well, I know what its like to be laid off. It has happened to me a few times in my life. No its not a good feeling. But these days it does seem like more and more people are starting their own business. Nothing wrong with that. Taking control is the thing to do. I need to paint my apartment also. But I have been lazy. It is a lot of work but well worth it in the long run. You will finish painting and you will feel good about it. Good luck with your childcare business.

Yeah it seems every time my husband gets a job this year he has gotten laid off again! It is driving me crazy. Since October he has been laid off 3 times! And everyone he worked with got laid off too. It is terrible right now which is why I'm worried his own company will not do well either... =(
We will see I guess.
It is a lot of work painting a house but it is well worth it too! Thanks!

Yeah I am proud of him but I am worried that he won't get many jobs since so many people here are doing the same thing. Either way there is a 50% chance that he will be out of work...

I`m glad your Childcare business is working! How many children are you taking care of? How old are they? Do you do it all by yourself or do you have a partner? I read about your project when you started it, but hadn`t heard of it lately. Luck!

Good to see you are here even with everything else going on with you offline...
Lamb is back (even as a 'ghost'), and I notice a couple prominent users here even started discussions after so many months that they have not done so.
All the best with your husband getting his own company going again...

Yeah it was a lot of work but it will be worth it once we are done!
Thank you, we are hoping it goes well with his company. We really need him to be working.
My husband will not be going to work there again either because he knows he could be laid off again in the future! So we are just trying to get his company going again...
