I love vintage stuff and shabby chic looks, and I am looking for ideas.
My sister gave me some old costume jewelry that was my great aunt's, and I am thinking of making tie backs for my bathroom curtains using some of it. I saw a picture on Pinterest of old strands of pearls and broaches used as tie backs and I really liked that idea.
I also like to restore old furniture, I lucked out, an elderly woman my sister takes care of gave me an old antique bed. It had several layers of paint on it, and I stripped it down, sanded it, and painted it fresh with Rustoleum Hammered Bronze paint.
This bed has the original feather mattress, a mattress cover made of old flour and sugar sacks. She gave me a 100 year old quilt, and two huge handmade feather pillows. I found a lacy dust ruffle to add to it and I just love it. It was definitely worth the time and effort.

Having our own home is a wonderful feeling. Seeing what you've worked gives you a relief nd one thing to make it very interesting is to decorate your home on what you would like to. It's an incomparable feeling seeing that you're working what you would like to see on your own property.

What awesome luck in finding such things. It can be hard to find nice vintage items. I'm sure your house will be a very inviting home.

Pinterest can be a great source of inspiration. Even though it does seem to be suffering right now from a flood of tacky people who don't "get" the culture of the site (i.e., posting things that don't have images, linking to their poorly written rubbish "articles," etc.), it still remains a great place for inspiration.
If you are looking to create a traditional look in your home, I would suggest taking a look at VanDykes (actually, this is two words, but the filter won't let my type it the way the name actually is) Restorers (http://www.vandykes.com/), Lehman's (https://www.lehmans.com/) and the Vermont Country Store (http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/store/) for items.
Also, there may be a Habitat ReStore within easy distance of you; if so, take a look around the place. You may find some hidden gems.

The antique things always add a great decoration to the home. Your antique bed also can be a better addition to your new home. I also like the idea of restoring the old furniture in your home. If you are looking for any other easy ways to decorate your home, I can help you with that. You can try out the ancient artworks or masks in the living room. The African masks have unique design and artistic work in them. You can try out them in your home and I am sure that it will really work out to the interior decoration of your new home. I just figured out this site, it gives more information about different African artworks to decorate your home.
