Most of us were taught that the rapture is going to happen before the tribulation starts, and that we are not going to have to go through any of it. the Bible teaches us that the closer we get to the end of the age the more clearer the scripture will be come to those that are filed with the spirit of God.
We are to be watchful and ready for it to happen at any time....
The Bible also talks about a great falling away that is going to happen. I have been thinking about this. Could this falling away from faith happen because the Bible was not interpreted in the right way and the pre trib rapture was taught, and when we see that it does not happen in that way will people start to turn away from God because of a mis understanding of the scripture.
any input on this will be greatly appreciated.

I think that's possible, although I think that the bling and excitement of worldly things draw people away more and more. Our churches are filled with ho-hum doctrines or worse, weird, non Bible based ones so that anyone with a desire for God or a brain in his/her head isn't interested.
Maybe a combination of things is causing a falling away.
As far as a pretrib rapture, there was only one time in all my Bible reading that I came across something that seemed to indicate that and I can't even remember what it was now. It's a fairly new thought from around the end of the 19th century if I remember right. No one until then had even thought of a pre tribulation exit from this world.
I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed. I pray there is enough trust in God to go through whatever will be for all of us.

Thank you for your input. The falling away might be caused by a combination of everything.
The more i read the Bible now you are right about our churches and the doctrines they are teaching.
But i also think that when the pre-trib rapture does not take place that their will be thousands of people that will fall away at one time.. opposed to people slowly falling away by other things....
It is just something that i have been thinking about. I know that God will let us know when the time is here.

I have never thought about this but I think this is possible. All I know (and believe) is that rapture will happen first before the tribulation. I think I have to put more study regarding this matter.
God bless!

I like you believed that the rapture would happen before the start of the tribulation because that is what i was taught. But the more i have been reading of the Bible and studying it. and praying for guidance. I am believing that we are going to have to go through most if not all of it.
I also believe that with all the talk from the us, and the uk about pushing peace in Israel. I believe that a agreement is going to take place very soon. and that is what will start the tribulation.
I am ready to go when ever it happens...It is just that i think that a lot of people are going to be disappointed and that they are not going to be prepared to deal with all the things that we are going to be put through. That they are going to be deceived and start turning away from their faith.
I know that it is going to happen, and I pray that it happens sooner than later.
God Bless

There is one sentence you wrote that I like most, and it is "It is just that I think that a lot of people are going to be DISAPPOINTED...".
Mat. 7:21-23, "Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU THAT WORK INIQUITY". ( this is probably directed to the all the False Teachers/Preachers)
Luke 13:25-27, "When the master of the house is risen up, and had shut to the door, and you begin to stand without (outside), and to knock at the door saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and He shall answer and say to you, I KNOW YOU NOT WHO YOU ARE. Then shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you has taught us in our streets. But He shall say, I tell you, I KNOW YOU NOT WHO YOU ARE, depart from me, all you workers of iniquity". (this is probably intended to the deceived lay members).
May God through Christ Jesus bless us all.

Thank you for your comment. and you may be right. It is just that i heard a preacher talking about it. (the pre-trib rapture) and it made me start thinking. I was brought up christian, and have always believed in God...but over the last year i have been really reading my Bible again... and it is like a flood gate has been opened for me, and Gods spirit has opened my eyes to a lot of things that i did not understand before.
God said that we would be shown things, and we would understand more as the end of the age gets closer.
I am thankful for forums like mylot because maybe talking about all these things might help someone down the line keep their faith because they were taught wrong.

As you read the Bible be sure to ask God to help you understand it the way it reads and not be influenced by church beliefs. If we ask God to help us believe a certain way then he will do that. I was reading about that just the other day. If we insist on believing a certain way then he allows us to because he gave us free choice.

Hi Dlr. Do you know there is no rapture written in the bible anywhere? Do you know that where people get this is from not starting with the object of what is being spoke of. 2nd Thessalonians 4:1 go through it and it will explain that it isn't a rapture it is when satan comes back claiming to be christ when he is only the fake. We aren't going to fly away if we are still in the flesh bodies that we were born with then it is a fake. Because when the true Christ comes we will all leave our flesh bodies and be in our spiritual bodies for the rest of our existence. Whether it be good or bad when Christ returns we will spend a thousand years being taught the right way and at that time the devil will be released for a short time and then if we follow the true Christ we will live on forever and ever. But if we follow the devil we will go up in smoke never to be remembered again. For those that think the first christ is the true christ when he is a fake, when the true Christ comes and we are all in our spiritual bodies those will cry for the mountians to fall on them. If you want to hear the truth go listen to this man he can teach you more then you ever were taught in your life.

Pre, mid or post, it should not be the governing issue of our lives. What we are commanded to do is to do the task that Jesus commanded us to do and live for His glory while we wait for the blessed appearing of our Savior. I believe in the pre-trib but the exact coming or the timing of His coming is not my concern because He shall surely come to His appointed time, I just need to wait faithfully for His return.

I never did believe in a rapture before Christ came. Those who are here on earth will surely go through a time of tribulation. The Bible does talk about apostatizing from God. That is to be one of the last day signs as well as two others. The leaders will get together and demand that we keep a certain day. Since it won't be the day God assigned us troubles will really start.
The Bible even talks about a decree going out to kill those who refused to worship the image to be killed. Rev. 13:15. We won't even be able to buy or sell if we don't follow the beast of Rev.13:17
