I had a nice long discussion on what all my money would be going towards + some and of course it got lost to cyber space.
So this will be a reiteration of it, and a quick one at that.
Break down pointers : Forgot to call insurance companies yesterday, on my to get done list today.
First company I called Saturday $163.00 (new driver remember?)
$250.00 to pay a pro to teach / let me practice (busier area, rather have a pro)
$250.00 for tags / title (estimate but darn close I'm certain)
The $163.00 is per month, and first company called, will call more today.
let's see what else to say?
Eye doctor $60-$80 (high end estimate)
Uhm.. hmm.. Getting groceries today.. not sure how much I'll spend. Need to save more now, even if I do have tax refund that will be used for Tags/Title and for pro to teach me.. Need to save for insurance, rainy day tire fund (just in case situations etc)...
Yeah that sums it up..
Now post durn you!

I am suppose to get money back from the government .
I get send a bill of usually $4,700 to pay them. I put away money each month so the end of the year, they can grab it from me, and I cry.
My car insurance is due next month $2,040 was last year hoping it went down but highly doubt it.

I don't believe I've ever owed the government. Once the government owed me from a few years prior, it was a nice surprise and is what paid for a mini vacay.
You have liability and comprehensive?

Yes I am confused by what everything entails to. There is a lot to it, and deductibles aren't good and I'm not quite sure why etc...
I called all the places I am going to. Others are not as well known, seem to be newer... I just don't want to go with them / bother calling. I did get a cheaper quote then the first place I called.

I wish I was the same, but I always owe money. Now I know to expect it and put it away each month though.
I am not sure what I have I have full coverage, I find their wording is so confusing. My Dad told me to get this package, as it covers more damage, and everything (not certain things for example, my sister on has fire and theft).

I didn't make enough of an income last year to file for taxes. It was unemployment but was well under the radar of how much you have to make. When I had Vanessa as a dependent though I used to get back a lot, as in $2,500 a lot. I was surprised when I filed taxes after that without her I would get some back. It wasn't too bad but would have preferred it to be higher. Next year when I file, I'm going to use it for a one ticket to anywhere but here.

A one way ticket outta there? Lol.
Staying in the states though?
I don't rightly remember but I don't think this is the biggest chunk I've gotten back. I think I got back about $1300 one year but I was working a few jobs then.

Damn. Typos I do on a normal basis, but now I'm leaving out words Yes, a one WAY ticket. I would stay in the states but I would be untraceable.

Yes I noticed that Mylot started to play up, through learning the hard way everything I post on Mylot I copy and paste just in case. Well at least this discussion got posted! That sounds like an awful lot of money to pay out my friend. From a young age I was always taught to put money away for that rainy day, well of late it hasn't been a case of a rainy day, it's been a rainy monsoon and I have had to rely on the money I saved. No one knows what's around the corner and putting a little by each month you don't miss and you are so glad of it when things get real bad and you need money just to live!

I was taught the same myself, but practicing it is another thing entirely. It is an awful lot to pay forth but it's something that I've needed to do for quite some time. Any money I get online is automatically going to be used towards bills now.

Do you manage to earn much on line now my friend? Sorry if I sound nosey, but I am find it increasingly difficult, whether it's because more and more people are turning to the internet as another source of income and there's more competition or because there are so many scams out there, ho hum.

More people come in, more scams come out. I make about $35.00 a month, give or take. For me that is more then it has been in the past.

We are using a bit to join a local community center that has a pool and gym as well as classes for us and the kids. Part of our getting healthy this year commitment we made. The rest is going to student loans... if we do that this year and next we should have them payed off next year which would make such a huge increase to our monthly budget we really wanted to use some for a vacation but practicality won out.

It will all be worth it in the end when you have more money to save towards a vacation.

The first chunk of our tax money has gone to me making sure that all of our utilities and such were brought back up to date. Then we lost a huge portion of our return because my husband's debit card was stolen last week (ugh, that was $1400, which really is a lot of money).
I've been making sure that we have food to eat and gas in the car and we also bought a ROKU box for the television in our living room and a new laptop for me because my desktop computer quit working.

Why did you have to pay so much if it was stolen? That I don't understand. The bank should have been able to flag it for you and that should not have come out of your pocket, they should have been trying to get it back to you instead. Maybe I am misunderstanding.
How are you liking windows 8? I've played around with it a little bit myself, and it seems nice.

Is this what you spend on taxes? Or is it what you spend your income on? Or is this what taxes returns to you once a year and you will spend on?
Need to save money as well (since the income will be lower instead of the same or higher). Already found out it's hard to save, looks as if I keep spending and spending. I wanted to save some by just spending about 20 euro a week for all of us (4 people) but the past days it was way higher (travelling to Hungary, back, to Hungary again...). Well I decided to pay first what has the biggest priority, to go for big shopping so no need to visit shops and we can stay at home (back to the shops if everything is really finished). I hope in a few weeks/month I am able to say I did save money and am able to spend on me instead of the never ending bills and taxes.

I got a refund from the government and the amounts outlined is what I will be spending in the coming month(s).
It's not easy to save anywhere anymore. I've thought of doing my bulk shopping, trying to shop when it's a good deal and get everything in one trip but not so sure.

i haven't really thought about our tax money just yet but i would love to sock it away for retirement but i am not sure that will happen. something always comes up.
last week, our microwave and tv went but we had a little extra money for that so hopefully nothing else will come up that will cost us money!

The car I will be getting is used but has always been well taken care of. Still never know, so I will be putting money aside for the just in case as well.
It's not easy to save anymore.

I am glad that you have a great spending plan and that you are doing things for you. I am still waiting on my tax return and once I get it I will put it aside for our trip to Idaho in August. Randy has his class reunion and he has two aunts who are turning 88 and 89 this year and we want to see them. I am hoping to also start up my online business which I am hoping will be successful so I can build my savings account as well as build my checking account. Right now we are struggling, but I hope to make things better.

Certainly is tough to get everything you need without going into debt! I've got my second child on the way soon, and I am using the strategy of using cash for everything instead of debit/credit cards. I keep some money in a safe, and thinking about whether I really want to go to the bother of getting money out in order to spend it is helping me spend less! Taking only cash to the store and not a credit card means I can't just buy something on impulse (I plan my grocery shopping and know how much I need to spend, then I only take that much!)
It's helping so far, but it's still tough!

Well since I don't file taxes (no job) I won't get money back this year, most of the time my mom always buys me something with hers but I'm not sure if she is getting enough back to do that this year.
My baby got his back 2 days ago I believe and he wants to save up on his so we can get our own place (well actually it was me that told him to do that).

Its good to get all of those things done with the money, I only hope there will be fun in it for you even a little.
