Well a few months back I started a discussion about finding money on the street so just thought I'd give an update on that. I was playing a little game with it seeing how much money I could find in a year. Well I'm a little short of a year, 10 months or so but felt like updating how much money I've actually found in the street.
So counting it all up I have found a total of $41.85
Not bad considering all I had to do was pick it up. There was more moeny that I found here and there but wasn't in a position to pick it up so I really found more. I'm hoping I can reach the $50 mark in the next 2 months! How about you guys? Anyone here been finding money lately? The best I've found recently are $5 notes, my mum found a $10 note this year with was pretty lucky

That is so awesome. I wonder if homeless people did this. I bet if they did, they wouldn't have to beg so much. This is awesome, thanks for opening this up.

Haahaa I'll bet they would find a bit but not enough to live on and even if they did they would still beg for more I'm sure!

In my country though, it is almost impossible to find more than 10 pesos on the streets. I could look all day and i wont find as much. Every cent is valuable here. People even rummage garbage just to sell trash, they do that for a living.

Wow I could ask you the same thing? You've never found any?!?! I went out yesterday and found another 10 cents, I'm now up to $42 exactly, just need another $8 to reach my goal of finding $50 in a year
I hope you find some money, you just need to be aware of your surroundings

Ohhh well that is surprising! OK well a good place to always look is where people pull out their money of course, so at a self serve or checkout at the supermarket or anywhere that people go to pay. Sometimes car parks can be good too, when people pull out thier keys they sometimes drop money and I've just found it in the street whilst walking too.
Today another 15 cents, found 3 5 cent pieces one at the coffee shop and 2 at the supermarket where we get the trolleys, people pull out $1 and $2 coins to put in so someone dropped money for me to find
Might even help you to think about finding money whenever you go to the shops. I really want you to tell me that you've found some

that is not really too bad. all i seem to find are pennies and since Canada has stopped minting pennies, i am sure that pretty soon, i won't be finding anything at all. (Canada decided that it cost more than a penny to mint the penny so the mint is no longer producing them as of last week).

Ohhhh yeah I know all about it, I was the girl picking up pennies when I was in Canada and the US, my friend told me people just throw them out the window I was finding them everywhere! I was excited over collecting pennies
I did hear that and I think it's good. We got rid our ours and our 2 cent coin too so the lowest now is 5 cents. But we are used to that now at first we weren't happy because they mark it up or down unless you pay by card, now it's OK

Maybe I should go walking in the street more often. When I was a student I was lucky to findseveral quarters, dimes and pennies laying about. The most I've found was about $80.00, but it was at a play ground.

Well you know playgrounds are good because kids always drop play money whilst on the monkey bars! When my cousin and I were younger we'd go to the school and search and find money and then run to the milk bar to buy candy or chocolate

Wow! 80$ zomg!!! That's more than how much i earn in a month through hardwork. maybe ill save up to go to the US as I'd earn more being a homeless person lol.

the other day i was walking home from taking my kids to school and i happen to drop something so i went to pick it up and right there where a car is usaly always parked but was not that day was a $5 bill it was dirty so i picked it up when i got home i cleaned it and my hands off , i always find money on the streets weather it be change or bills but it all adds up , 2 years ago my 10 year old son was walking with his dad in kmart and found $20 and then a few months ago i took him with me to the store he likes looking under the coinstar thing he looked under it and found $20 he always gets lucky . the best i did was 2 years ago i was walking my 7 year old son to school and i crossed the street and this one lady i see every once in awhile stopped me and asked if i walk him everyday and i said yes he has to be in school she then reached her hand out and handed me money and said this is for taking such good care of your kids and walked away got in her car and left as i am walking up the hill my son says mom what did she give you i said money but did not see how much he said look so i reached in my pocket opened up and it was a $100.00 bill i was in shock the whole day i went to bank they checked said it was real ,

Such a generous person she was...
Years ago my mom was shocked when she found $100 bill in her purse. She did not expect that and tried to figure out how she got it. She figured it was some change the sales lady gave her at the store where she had just bought some clothes. The lady was supposed to give her $10 change but handed my mom $100 instead. My mom went back to the store to get the right change. She felt bad for the cashier as my mom knew store cashiers had to make up for any shortages with their own money. Besides, my mom was afraid that she would end up losing bigger amount in the long run if she kept that $90 herself...

Whoa your kids are very good at attracting money to themselves it sounds like! And double wow for that $100 that lady gave you. She will be getting plenty of good karma that's for sure, sharing the wealth around to people she deemed good. That's just so amazing I can't believe it

Wow, congratulations! You know, I believe in a thing called 'the law of attraction' and to me this is it. You set the intention to find money, and you have! Personally I've never 'tried' to look for money, and perhaps that's why in my whole life I've found probably much less than $10 in the street, lol. Me and my step dad once saw a £10 note on the floor but we both saw it at the same time, and he picked it up first. I think perhaps he split it with me though, I don't remember now. I think I may give this a go and see what happens! ;)

Yes the law of attraction is a big part of it, I always imagine myself as a money magnet, you also have to feel excited about finding money too, feelings are a big part of it. One of the $5 notes I found was a result of being excited earlier in the day because I thought I found $5, that was a false alarm but I got the excited feeling and later that day I did find $5
But another thing is that you have to be aware of your surroundings and pay attention, so many people dont' find money becaue they are too busy and rushed and not paying attention. Today I only found 2 5 cent pieces but could only pick up one but still better than nothing
Good luck to you, I'm sure you will find some now

this year, i did find a ten spot. that wasn't as good as one year though when i found $100 sitting in an atm that no one was in front of. the machine was on welcome, so the person must have used it and logged off their account. they just forgot to take the money out of the tray. lol. if i knew who it belong to, it would have caught the person and gave it to them, but there was no way of telling so i took it out of the tray for them. lol. btw, i think you will make the $50 mark this year.

Wow nice! The best I have ever found in my life was a $20, I am aiming to find a nice $100 note in the street some day. I'm like you if I see a person drop the money I give it back of course but if I have no idea who it belongs to then I claim it.
If I keep it up I should make it to the $50 mark. I tend to find a fair few $2 coins which is nice
Good luck to you finding more money like you have been, that's so good

Wow that's fantastic! Twice in one day too you must have been happy. I hope you find that again or even a nice $50. The best I've ever done are $20 notes, last year I found 3 $5 notes, this year I'm aiming higher

Sometimes, I find money on the street, but usually one or two cent coins. The day before yesterday I found a 5 cent coin (every value mentioned is in euros). Last year, my husband found a €20 note. Personally, I found only once two notes of €5, but it was already several years ago. Even my children found some notes, one of €10 and another one of €5. But many time passed between one and the other one. Until now, I never collected it see how much I may save during a year by collecting lost money from the street, so I can't really tell you a complete amount.

Ohhh yeah I love finding Euros because they are worth more. Last time I visited I went to Slovakia with my friend and I found something like a euro and thirty cents all in that one day, I was pleased with myself, my friend just couldn't believe it
The 1 and 2 and 5 cents are easier to find as people seem to drop them and they are very dark people don't notice, when I was in Italy for the first time I swear every couple of steps in Bologna I was finding them! People must have thought I was crazy for picking them up
Good luck, I hope you find more euros!

I have not found any money on the street for many years now... The last I can remember was on a swap meet back in the States perhaps in late '80s when I found a $20 note on the parking lot. But when I clean my son's room, I can always find coins everywhere and they add up nicely especially those gold ones...

Wow really? That's surprising to me as here in Melbourne and at shopping centres I find them. Maybe you just need to pay more attention to your surroundings. The supermarket is a good place, usually I find coins in the self sserve part, people are doing so many things at once they don't notice when they drop them I guess.
Haha well I guess since it's your sons money it can count for something especially if you take it and put it in a piggy bank for him. It does add up for sure
Good luck, I hope you find some money on the street soon even if it's just a shiny $2 coin or something

I think I am also lucky on this aspect. Several times that while walking, I would be able to find some paper bills, but not very often.
Have a nice day!

That's a good earning by you from street with keeping in mind that you only have to just pick it up and it is yours
And even funny is that you are making a target of how much money you should find in next two months.
That means you will be running down the streets in desperate search for money to meet up the target pf $50 in one year
Well you have some lucky streets down there which really provides opportunity of just walk and earn...........

I must say that you are truly a lucky guy. How are you able to find so much of money on road. I have never ever found a single cent. I have seen people talking about money they find on roads. I really feel upset not finding any.

OK here is the secret or what I believe to be the secret. Whenever you go out to the shops or anywhere just pay attention to your surroundings. People these days don't look or pay attention, they're too busy or always in a rush. When I walk I'm looking at the ground too, it's also good because I don't step in dog poo either
Good luck!

Good luck then. All you have to do is when you go out get it in your mind that you will find money and just look. These days so many people are in a rush and don't pay any attention to their surroundings. I do so that's how I find the money. Look and you shall find

Hello there ! I don't pick money in the street or in any where ! I have this belief in my mind that if you can find money in the street and you are going to pick it up then following days to come some amount of money will be lost from you , doubling the amount you saw . I don't if there is a scientific explanation for this but i have really observed there is some truth about it.

I haven't personally experienced this myself I don't think but I have different beliefs in it. If we are meant to find something, we will and I don't feel guilty for picking money up I am grateful to find any at all and thankful. I look at it positively but if that is your views that is fair enough too

I've heard something about too, and that was if you find something and nobody owns it, it doesn't have another person's name on it, then it is meant to be yours. I'm scared though, especially that in a lot of horror movies, picking up something on the street especially if it isn't money always always has bad spirits tagged along with it,

I'm from Canada, and I've found $20 bills a couple of times, and a $50 once! It really feels awesome to find free money. I recently found coins from Australia on my street. Our penny has just been officially removed so I'm considering picking them up for the 'antique' value that they'll pose in the future :)

Wow nice work on those bills! And Australian coins too? I've found coins from singapore and I think china before here as well, it's kind of strange
Yeah I say keep all your pennies, I got a few too when I went to Canada, I was picking them up every few steps. My friend said people would just throw their pennies out the window
