The Boss Who Sees Even The Little Mistakes

I have this boss who always see mistakes in us. Working in a foreign country, it's been hard to adjust to the culture, work ethics, language and so many more. For two years of working here, I have committed several mistakes at work, mostly unintentional. Lately, he's been pointing this and that, we should not do this, we should not do that. We can't talk anything but work-related stuff, we can't speak another language but theirs and so many don'ts. I hope I could say I am immune to all of these restrictions he has made but I am not, and I am not really happy. But whenever I think of those things, I am reminded of a strict parent who just wants the best for his or her child. And that makes me think otherwise. Perhaps, he cares so much for us that he wants us to do better; to stop doing thoselittle mistakes; to become people that can satisfy the requirements of this company, of this foreign country. I may have been resistant to all the things he has said, he made us do, but at the end of the day I have seen myself grow, and become better, more aware of the things happening. I must start taking things constructively, and stop complaining whenever there are things that are not in my favor. So instead of getting mad at him, I have to thank my boss who sees even our little mistakes.

Actually, he is really good after work. He invited us to go out and ski the last time. But sometimes I just don't get it when he becomes too strict. Maybe it's just us complaining of his rules and standards.

That is great! At least you were able to see the good thing behind those unending sermons from your boss. For as long as you feel that you know what is truly right, then that is all that matters. I know it is hard to be away from your family. And probably you have thought of giving up before coz of your boss. But we really need make a little sacrifice not only for ourselves but for the family as well. Good luck on that job and hope that could stay longer with it. Keep safe!

Yes, there really were times that I was about to give up and just leave but it will never result to a good end. So I just need to keep my cool, take things calmly, and ask for God's guidance and wisdom. Things are doing well. I know this will not be the last, and more will come from him, but I'll just keep moving forward.

Your sacrifice will bear you good fortune in the end. And you are not alone with the same sentiments. Every person who works abroad feels the same as you do. Just hang on and believe in everything that you do and can do.

Like you have said about maybe your boss just cares about you and your colleauge. I had one a boss, but I'm not directly reporting to her. But I heard from others that she always notice little mistakes made by her staff that is really not necessary due to it may cause some delays. MOst of the time its the grammar that she corrects, for me she is just correcting them but most of the time its too much.

Well, yeah, sometimes they do things too much that it annoys and irritates you. Maybe that is their way of showing their care, or on the other hand, to show their superiority over you. Either way, they are still our boss and we are ought to respect and follow their orders. Of course, we know our rights so we should also be aware if they are already taking away and violating our rights.

My advice to you is to just be nice to your boss despite his attitude and just always do your best. I think that by doing that you will gain his respect because he's going to see you as a patient and understanding person. In the end who knows, he can be a friend to you? Good luck to you, I know this advice is not easy but I'm sure you can do it, you sound like a nice person.

I really need to widen my understanding and patience. I know and believe that he only wants the best for us, and wants the best from us. This is really a good training for me to stretch my patience, and self-control. And of course while learning the this-and-that of this job. Thanks for saying I sound like a nice person. That sounds good. Hehe.

I don't know your boss, maybe he just cares about the employees... But, normally, I would think he cares about his job and the company. Which is totally ok, his mission there is to enhance the productivity or quality of services. This doesn't make him a good person or a bad one, just a proffesionist. Good for you that you learned how to be strong and don't take too personal job related things. Good luck carrying on!

I agree with you. There's this big of a chance that he is just doing his job. Maybe if I were in his position I would the same thing so I could get the optimal productivity from the people under me. And yes, I should really not take things personally. Although at times I couldn't help it but be too emotional.

Good for you you are your own boss. Indeed I have learned a lot from him. Some I needed to learn the hard way, and some harsh words. But well, it was for my own good. If I want to be better in this job, I needed those type of training. That's why I am still thankful to him after everything.
