Hmm a portrait of Jesus. Has any one seen him to know what Jesus really looked like? For a man that has been dead for as long as Jesus has and with no known actual portraits or paintings of him how can any one say that the portrait is a portrait of Jesus? Its just a man that some one choose to represent Jesus. They could have chose a Tomato to represent Jesus and people would be acting the same way. I mean really its not like that picture hanging in that school is an actual portrait of Jesus. I just get so upset when people blow things way out of purportion. The offending portrait was a gift so to speak to the school by a group it was given to them over 65 years ago. This picture was in the same spot for many generations of children to walk by and it was never a problem. So now why is a problem? People are making mountains out of mole hills. I mean some things you just walk away from if it bothers you and one little picture should not be that hard to avoid. The fact that the school voted to keep the portrait even with the threat of a lawsuit really makes me happy. They have to stand up for their students rights as well and the students that placed that portrait there 65 years ago have the right to freedom of expression is the reasoning for keeping the picture. I am happy they did for what ever reason. People need to get their panties out of a bunch and just get over it. The article link is posted below for those that want to read it. http://news.yahoo.com/ohio-school-board-votes-keep-jesus-portrait-023441680.html

I don't think there is anyone who really knows what Jesus looked like since there were no cameras back then. I question most of the pictures I have seen since it's just an artists representation of what they feel he looks like. I think the school should be allowed to keep the picture. They are allowed in Catholic schools and should be allowed in public schools too.

That is so true. No one really knows what Jesus looks like he could have been any race and really looked like any one we don't know and we wont know till we get the chance to meet him if that is how you believe. The fact that every one is against religion in our schools and our government really scares me as realistically our great country was based on the freedom of religion and the ability to practice what ever type of religion we choose where ever we want. When they take away one freedom another is soon to follow. I have no problem if they want to put a portrait of Buddah or any other religious icon up in any school or government building I think that if we let God back into our country things will get better
