To all my fellow lotters who are in a Long Distance Relationship like me, how will you celebrate Valentine's Day for tomorrow February 14?
So sad that we will not gonna be with our love ones, but who cares, love month can be celebrated 12 times in a year if we want and if we are together with our partners.
Your thoughts..

Actually I am so glad I am married and long distance relationships are a thing of the past. I know people do it even in marriage and it is not easy. But at least now we have internet and phone capabilities along with beingable to ship stuff if needed. But Valentine's is always special for my husband and I since the 13th is our anniversary.

My boyfriend is in the army and he was sent to Korea in October and I haven't seen him since. We've missed out on all the holidays so far and Valentine's Day was no different. We were able to text and call before I went to bed and we said our I love yous and Happy Valentine's Day. I worked that day and I ended up going to dinner with my mom and dad.
It was kind of a sad day because it only reminded me more of how I'm alone while he's away

I thinks that day is not important among lovers in my opinion because the important thing is that both lovers still carried the love that they promise each other. Even if the Valentine's Day, celebrated daily but the love in your heart and the heart of your love disappeared and kept according to promise. This is a useless thing and being faithful to each other is the best thing to celebrate...

I'm not in a long distance relationship this Valentine's Day and I haven't been involved in a distance relationship over this holiday since I was a teenager in college. When I was in college and I wasn't able to spend the holiday with my boyfriend, we just waited until the next weekend where we would be able to be together and we celebrated the holiday at a slightly later date. This was actually a good thing because the crowds were not as bad and the prices were a little bit cheaper as well.

If you are in long distance love, you can send sms to your beloved friend or you can talk to him over telephone/cellphone. Have a very nice day.

I had enough of love and get bitter about it, so maybe I won't care enough about valentines day. Its nothing special, but one thing is I'm quite sure, I have so much love for my family especially my son and that's all that matters. Don't be sad, my friend atleast even he is there, by exchanging messages thru text messaging, you day can already say that you spend valentines with him, its not having each other physically during the day, but its the thought that counts...

hi there kokomo! :D Distance is a problem for those who are in a relationship - but i think that was way before our communication lines have been made easy. :D We have a lot of ways to "be" with our partners now and there is video conferencing, free calls when you are connected to the internet, etc.
But as you have said, celebrations such as this may come every time you want it to happen. You can bring the celebration to your preferred date, etc. What matters is that you love your partner and that no matter how much the distance is between you two, you are faithful to each other.

Other sitting down and mopped, I think the sky is the limit as far as the both of you are devoted to one another.
I am sure by now both Valentines Day presents would have arrived by express courier at both ends and are opening up those surprises at both ends. Instead of a digital Valentines Day card I am sure you can contact the local vicinity of your boyfriend's workplace and place an order for a card to be hand delivered to him - not forgetting to attached the most mushy personal thoughts of yours.
You may want to dish out your tablet or smartphone and spend the entire day video chatting by the beach, shopping mall, favorite hangouts, favorite restaurant (at his expense of course) and end off the day watching the stars together.
Short of the physical presence, I believe the both of you can let your separations motivate each other to be creative with each other here. Long distance relationship may be a different ball game but love being a consistent component makes commitment, devotion, faith and care in a relationship.
Chances favor those that are prepared (to be creative, go way and above and go beyond) - so start preparing and prepare. Again, the sky is the limit - keep your moods up and most of all, faith in yourself.

That is true! We should not just celebrate love during Valentine's Day, but every day of our lives.
But if you wanna make your V-day special, why not chat via Skype and exchange beautiful words with each other expressing your love.

Since my fiancee works tomorrow I have no clue what we will do to celebrate Valentine's Day. Last year he sent me something but this year I didn't want him to do that because we are trying to save up for a place of our own.
If he wasn't working we might have gotten on skype or something of that nature. I just wish I was with him, especially after all that has happened tonight its more important to me now (not like it wasn't before).

Have a virtual or online date with your beloved! With internet and skype or FaceTime, you guys can have a date right in your own homes. It is not really the flowers or the food or even the ambience that matters but the time you guys spend together. I like valentine's day, but I am not really that big on celebrating it. My husband is working offshore and wouldn't be back in 2 months for his RnR. Everyday for us is a valentine.

i do not know why i've responded to your post LOL maybe because I saw LDR on your title. well, anyway I broke up with my boyfriend who lives miles and miles away from me yesterday and now, I do not know how to celebrate V-day tomorrow but, I think if I did not break up with him nothing will change because we can't still be together. so, I guess I will celebrate V-day with a broken heart. maybe I will go out with my friends or just stay at home and sleep. Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm not real sure how I will celebrate Valentine's day yet, as of right now it looks like I'll be celebrating alone because my girlfriend has to work all day but I have the day off so far. I hope that maybe I'll be able to pick up a shift or something because it gets kind of boring staying at the house all alone sometimes and we've both been trying to save up money.
It was my birthday yesterday and I've been wanting to go to the casino for my birthday. I'm thinking that we can turn that trip into my birthday celebration/valentine's day date. Other than that we don't have any plans for Valentine's day. Maybe we'll go and watch a movie or something too, that new Side Effects movie looks pretty good.

Well, I am not looking forward to any celebrations tomorrow just because my partner is not with me right now. Long distance relationship is killing me and my valentines day will be the day when he will be coming back to my place after his project which is going on in some other place.
All I can do tomorrow is, cry cry and cry, think about him, speak to the walls, then call him and tell him I am missing him badly, then spoil his mood also, I think I am going to ruin the whole essence of the valentines day.
man! I don't want tomorrow to come.

Feb. 14 has never been a special day for me as far as I can recall. My husband is always away on that date and I don't fancy dragging my kids out for dinner. There are always people everywhere and it seems the food chains, restaurants, movie houses are always full of people and I hate that. So it's like a typical day for my family, sounds bland, but the day gets over so fast.

There are lot of ways to spend it with her/him. Recent technologies made it possible for any couple to celebrate important dates with their love ones; they could chat, talk via Skype, Video chat via Yahoo Messenger,Viber chat and/or simply talk thru cell phones...there are numerous ways.. And if you are really out of connection, this could not mean the end of the day,you can still celebrate Valentine's day with your friends, relatives and or office mates..The world won't stop whe you can't connect with your partner, besides, you can make other days your Valentines Day anyway. . ..

Distance is not a matter for those who love each other. Because the love one is in the heart and nothing is closer than heart to us.
