I would use it, but the surface onto which the image of the keyboard is projected would need to be yielding (Coming to think of it, this wouldn't difficult to acquire or carry around - the back of a mousepad would do), so I don't develop RSI. Actually, with that sort of keyboard I would prefer to use a projection type screen like P-ISM (which, along with projection type keyboard, I've just looked up on wikipedia). I wouldn't get on with screens that are too small; not at my age.

Personally, I would always keep a laptop... I have too many important documents, work related & personal, to keep it in one place without backing them up... Like I mentioned, I have an external hard drive, 2 TB, & I keep most of my personal & work related things backed up in it...

I don't agree that laptops will be totally replaced by the tablets. Since the laptops can do more things than the tablets. For example, you can't use a professional software like Photoshop from your tablet to edit the photos. Laptops still have its advantages. Perhaps they are not as popular as before, but they are still very useful. If I have to choose one of them, be sure I will choose a laptop rather than the tablet.

Hi,
I would like to claim that my desktop is still my workhorse up to now. For a price half of that of a laptop, my desktop can crunch the most demanding video and photo editing, not to mention the heaviest game there can be from morning till night, 24/7. Now, a laptop for power users is not a viable option, it is priced way too high, cannot stand long periods of usage, easily damaged and is hard to repair. Tablets are much worse, costing twice that of a laptop, they have limited capability in terms of heavy applications. If I have to spend USD500 on a tablet, I could slash it in half to build the latest gaming platform that I can upgrade every now and then.

I somewhat agree, though it's more desktops are being completely replaced now. Many people still have desktops, but many are switching to just laptops, and why not? They get done what is needed and are more powerful now than desktops were 4 years ago.
Tablets are still a little weak, and many people will want the keyboard because it is comfortable and useful. However, tablets are becoming more prominent for the portable device, while tablets are becoming more like a desktop that is carried around as much.

Hello John.
It is a bit exaggerated to state that laptops replaced computers ! The best gaming rigs and normal rigs are cheaper and better on desktops so I would say the market just decreased as people who needed mobility bought laptops (that does not mean that all people who bought laptops turned their heads from desktops, not at all, some just bought laptops as well).
As for tablets, I for one, and trust that I am not the only one, do no like "touch screen" devices - this includes laptops, smartphones etc, so I will not buy such a device. When I will reject a laptop and I need a mobile device, I will probably have a virtual reality device or something - just saying.

Yes you are right. Now a days phone's and tablets are taking the place of laptop's and are working much better than laptop and moreover are easy to carry any where, one wants too.

I think that the desktops would still be around coz it is still more convenient to use in the office most especially in viewing documents because of its wide screen monitors. While tablets could be the fad nowadays, I think it is only good in reading mails and articles online. But doing some office works with that would bot be the same as using desktops and laptops.

You are right. Laptop seems to be replaced by tablets, because tablet is more mobile than laptop. I have both laptop and tablet. It is easy to carry to everywhere, and lighter. I often do my office work from my tablet, because my tablet is support windows Microsoft words and excel. it is a tablet with windows 8 of operating system.
