Who Should the New Pope Be?

Other than the names floating around the Vatican (an Italian priest, one from Ghana in Africa, a Canadian priest), some suggest that the Archbishop of America should take it, some suggest Stephen Colbert (from COMEDY CENTRAL's Colbert Report). Who do you think would be best to ... what does the Pope do, beside 'say masses' & 'visit the sick'? I know you might say he "serves as the representation of Christ on Earth, our connection to Jesus" etc. But I'm not asking 'what he represents for us,' I'm asking WHAT DOES HE DO? And who would best do that---Donald Trump? Kim Kardashian? Who?

Anyone who would abandon the position of being a pope, which goes against the teachings of Christ all the best, urban

I meant 'what does that have to do with "who the new pope will be"?'

I hope they check his back ground thoroughly. I hate when people put someone into office and then run a fine tooth comb through their background after the facts. Has a Pope ever been gotten rid of after elected?

Well, they've all been Catholic priests, and--to be a Catholic priest--takes years-&-years of seminary, service in the church ... practically an entire lifetime of 'background' that pretty-much 'checks' itself. It's not like an instant process like it is with the Church of Spiritual Humanism---of which I am an 'ordained minister' (i.e. I went to the website http://www.spiritualhumanism.com/ordain (or something) & AGREEd ... I think that was a little bit before 'LIKE's )
