The unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable, false media representation

Here in dear old blighty the media, like to portray the fox hunting issue as country vs town; as those in favour of the ban as townies ignorant of country ways and necessities. But this is far from the case, many real country people (Not the novo-rural set; in their discos that never get muddy, green wellies and tweed hacking jackets) who despise that spectacle of this cruel abomination that is fox hunting. I am also reminded of that old country saying, "Doer praper jab n fox'll b werkin foree" If you do your job right, the fox will be doing it too" Foxes reduce the prevalence of other animals considered vermin Foxes are naturally shy and timid, they are however, extremely clever, known to play dead in order to catch crows that come down to feed on their carcass. Cats will climb a fence, dogs dig under but a fox will both climb and dig. Though small they are able to defend themselves, an old dog of ours, a shepherd cross, got into a fight with a fox and came out worse Twice I have come into close contact with one of these creatures, once when one ran into our kitchen to escape a hunt, the hunter was somewhat surprised to be told to clear off, when he approached us and after the hunt had retreated the fox, which had cowered under a table, quickly left. Again, I came face to face on opening my back door late at night, the fox atypically did not run but stood looking at me, I slowly proffered it some dog food, which it ate warily, I never saw it again, though it did eat once more from dog food left out. It is not foxes that are rabid but the wawas in red jackets (Wawas comes from the peculiar noise these people make when laughing) all the best, urban

According to today's Evening Standard, it's not just the sensational media that want Boris Johnson to cull the urban foxes, but that O So Sensational father of the baby. What business has he to act up like that? It isn't as though that fox had done anything more than merely nearly kill his baby, is it?

Or what attitude would be taken of a baby stolen from a home where the doors were left open and the baby unwatched. My suspicion is that the parents would face investigation if not prosecution all the best, urban

I strongly doubt the fox was attacking the child for food, I suspect it was attracted by unchanged nappies. So, you were left in a garden unattended? all the best, urban

I would have thought the back garden (the fox got in through a back door) would have been secured to some extent against people. I'm sure there were many times when I or my brother was left in a pram in the back garden of our home. I don't think our parents were negligible in any way. What did you have to say about the McCanns?

Actually, the unspeakable in full pursuit of the uneatable is a gay couple seeking to adopt a child.

Please say how you think Oscar Wilde really felt about fox-hunting.

we have a lot of foxes around here and I am delighted to catch a glimpse of them they can be quite tame they are not hunted here so its likely they haven't much learned to fear men I didn't know foxes would catch crows! I wish they'd pull the 'carcass trick' onour local crow population, especially on garbage day! crows are very clever too, so its a fair fight

This kind of thing happens all the time in the media. If it was not for Horseburgers and Pony Lasagnas then this would be a much bigger story. I would think that Baby eating foxes would be all over the papers if not for dodgy grub. We are to blame for urban foxes coming into homes, trying to tame them like stray dogs. They have tried urban fox culls in towns since the 1940's - it doesn't work. We can not allow the fox hunting toffs to return because of this very very rare event

Aye, and given the nature of foxes the simply precaution of shutting doors and windows or simply watching the baby, which the parents should in any case be doing should be sufficient to safeguard the child all the best, urban

I say just gather them up and create the English version of the original version of America's fictional Hunger Games -- the original story that Ice T owned, Surviving the Game. Give 'em a good meal, give 'em a 10 minute head start, and ready or not...
