We spend more money on Education and guess what Teachers salaries are higher than ever. Not begrudging them the salary but that is where the money is going. If you ant true reform in Education give the parents the choice of what school to send their children to and let the money follow the child. Having worked in Education as an administrator I have seen an excellent teacher develop a program and write a grant to fund it only to lose the position to a more senior teacher - Union Contract. Talk about a morale killer when you do all the work and someone else get the job. When trying to hire a teacher I could choose from 200 - 300 Elementary Teachers for one position and if I am lucky I will get 2 or 3 applications for a Math or Science position and guess what they both get paid the same and there is nothing I can offer the math or science teacher to get them to accept the position at my school.
President Obama wants to improve education but the problem is the Union. As a building Principal I worked with a teacher to develop a joint course offering between the local College and our High School. When we were ready to move to the implementation stage the college got hit by the Union and we got hit by the Union and the program was over before it began. It would have given students a chance to earn college credit while taking courses at the local High School. The Unions fight school choice even though there is research that shows it works. To improve education get the Unions out and the government out of the education business.

It's hard to say what the solution is because you want your teachers to be motivated because we are putting all of our confidence in them being able to educate our children. I don't think that money should be the only motivator for teachers though, I think that teachers should be doing what they do because they enjoy it and because they are good at it. I had a lot of teachers growing up though that were pretty unmotivated and didn't really seem to care that much about their students or their futures.
I think that we need to improve education by specializing classes more. I think that students should be able to begin taking the classes that they want to go into their chosen field of career. I just think it would be much easier for people to learn exactly what they need to so that they can become what they dream of. I think that cutting out all the unnecessary classes and allowing students to truly chase their dreams is something that we need to be shooting for in the education system.

When President Reagan suggested school choice he talked about the choice being a contract between the school and the parent. The school could set standards for the students to follow or the school could be a specialized school offering training in math or science or in a vocational program. The parents could select any school they wanted their children to attend and if the school was not performing then the parents could pull the child out and the money and move to a different school. It would not be the schools problem to make sure the student was in school but the parents. Teachers would be motivated to work with all students because if too many students leave then the staff must also be cut. In one district I worked in we lost 30 students who dropped out of school but still lived in the district. The response from several teachers was good we don't need those kinds of students. When I said that the amount of state aid we lost was equal to the cost of 1.5 teachers the response was we can't cut staff because we are past the lay off date in the teachers contract. Those teachers were only concerned about themselves and not the students.
Let the schools teach and let the parents be responsible for the students attending school and behaving.

We do spend more money on our education than 30 years ago, but I do not think money is a good way to improve education level.
I think education can not only get from teachers, your classmates and your friends are also great sources for you get education, while now we put too much attention on our teachers and spend less time with classmates and friends.

Education has become very necesarry in every days life but quality education is also important as we are spending money for it. But person should first decide what he wants to do rather then wasting money on different courses. We should be very sincere as we have spend our money for it. One will surely get best result once we do want we want
