Again, my daughter (age 9) asked me this question, "Papa, why is it that Mama was so happy and smiled when you gave her flowers?" I replied, "It is because today is Valentine's Day and she likes it." She then retorted back saying "Then I think you should have given her money instead because she smiles more every time she you give her your money!" So I was dumbfounded on how she notice the little but truthful things! How can I explain to her that? That her mother is likes money even more? I just told her that money is just something we get by everyday but gestures of showing love is meaningful and heartfelt. She still insisted that I should have given money instead. What will be your answer if ever asked the same question by a 9 year old girl?

Well, I think that the better answer for that is to tell your daughter that your wife is happier when you give her money coz she is relived from worries on paying bills and on buying things for the family.
