Coincidences... what does it mean to you?

Several times, I encounter coincidences. Sometimes I think its fate. But sometimes, I tend to ask myself, what does it really tells me? Sometimes I ask myself, will it change my life? Or is there a more profound and deeper meaning to it?

I've never considered myself a 'fate' person or one that was overly religious but I have to wonder if these 'coincidences' are really signs for us. I am not going to make this a religious discussion but just thinking out loud here.
The what if's. What if that was a sign for us or this happened to bring us around to better thinking or understanding.
A good friend of mine keeps telling me that nothing happens by accident if it greatly effects you or your conscience. I've been thinking about that a lot lately so have to wonder if it's true.

I see coincidences as guides to lead us to the right direction. It can lead us to the right decision we should make. It also encourages us to listen to our intuition and not ignore it.
