I'm not a high maintenance type of woman, I'm just not into fancy jewelry (can't wear it at work anyway), or expensive restaurants, or gifts.
We did have plans for today, but his job got in the way of that, so we are going to take a nice vacation this summer instead.
Last night after he got off work, he called and asked if I was up to company, and even though it was late I said yes.
He came in and his jacket was all bulged out, I said, "What's this?"
Joking, he said, "I'm bloated". Then he pulled out the cutest teddy bear. After I gushed, he asked me if I wanted some fruit, I said sure, and turned to go to the fridge. He went on the back porch though, came back in and handed me a heart shaped box of chocolate covered strawberries.
I know it wasn't much, but considering my ex either didn't get me anything, or he would stop at the grocery store to buy me half dead flowers, I am happy that my boyfriend made the effort to get me something I would like.

that is really nice. we don't have a lot of money but for me, my hubby bought some roses (we got a great deal a couple of weeks ago on 2 dozen roses for $20 which we split between his mom, my mom, our youngest daughter and me). he also bought me a necklace and a bit of candy and i bought him some candy also. we did go out for a quick breakfast this morning too as we both had to get our blood tested. hubby and i have been married for 25 years and now that our daughters are older, we can get away alone a little more so we just enjoy spending time together.

That was so awesome and your soooo lucky! YOur right a teddy bear will last forever but flowers are gone in days. I usually get candy from my son but I'm not expecting it this year. Chocolate covered strawberries are awesome and so yummy. Happy Valentines Day !

you are lucky indeed, your bf is a thoughtful one. I wish my husband will be half as sweet as him then i'd be more happier, i guess people are really not the same. My husband gave me towred roses, my eldest daughter gave me a sweet card. Valetine's Day is a special day to show how much we love those people who are important to us. I would have wanted to go out for a dinner but something came up and my husband does not have plans, so i stay home and sleep, then i go to work...romantic? Nahdah!

Hi Dikuku,
First of all your ex is ex because of a good reason so no point in comparing him with your present boy friend. Obviously this guy is in love with you and he knows how to show it to make you feel special. This is very good qualities in a guy. I hope he keeps you happy and good luck for future.

This was very sweet of your boy friend to be so romantic. It is not the cost of the things which count but the effort and thought behind the gift which counts. As it is quite clear that this guy cares for you a lot. It was very romatic to give you teddy bear and heart shaped chocolates. I am sure you must be very happy.

That is so sweet! Like you, I also find happiness in small things that are given to me with sincerity. I look beyond the price tag and marvel at the person's feelings extended through the small treats given to me by that person. I kinda envy you a bit, my husband is away for work so I am dateless this valentine's day. But I know he will make it up to me somehow. Not that he really observes valentine's day but I think he will do something just to please me.

Good for you. My husband was broke last Valentines Day and he really did not give me anything. He did not even do anything special or extraordinary to make me feel special. I really felt bad. It is our first Valentines Day as husband and wife and he even did not accompany me home. I was all alone waiting for the bus while other passengers have their partners with them. Other girls had flowers with them too. I really felt bad for myself. He bought me a bag as a gift a day after Valentines Day, but I am still not satisfied. I was really expecting something special from him.

That was the sweetest thing ever! You have a good one, don't let him go. Lol. My husband and I are not doing anything today and I really don't care. That is fine with me. I am so over this stupid holiday! We have never done anything for it and I don't plan to start now...
I am so happy for you though because that was so sweet and it's the thought that he put into it that is really special!

It is so beautiful to have a partner who made an extra effort to give you something . Woman's happiness is so shallow that even a candy or a petal of a flower can make her happy already . What more if it is something being prepared , being planned the more it will make her heart explode in joy ! I don't know but there are really other people who have no consideration or its just nothing for them , in other words they are not thoughtful . Reason always would be so busy in work ! What a silly reason right ? Who is not busy in this world ? I guess all are , the thing is , he really don't know how to make her girl happy. You are blessed having a guy who is so thoughtful and valued you very much !
