If I remove someone's name from my friends list, will they know it?

I was not even aware that this friend deleted me from her list until I read one of her discussion in today's digest. I was very sure that she was my friend as I have responded to her discussions once upon a time. I checked her profile and sure enough I had been axed from her list. Maybe I am always missing in action here so that was why she deleted me from her list. I really don't mind being removed as there are still others I can be of use.

Only when the dont see email notifications from you is all. I delete friends all the time. No big deal..

Nope, I do not think they will receive a notification for being removed as a friend in mylot. They would just notice that they might have lost a friend in mylot when whey know how many friends they have got (if and when they log in and check their friends list). Other than this you are safe to remove anyone from your list. It's your call. In case they get active again though, you would no longer receive a notification of their activities, so its really just up to you whether you still want to remove them or not.

Dream home, I do not know what you would gain by removing them from your friends list. This site mylot.com is not like facebook.com that the number of friends you interact with. Here if you have more friends even if they are seldom active it is good because your discussion would show on their home page and you have more chance of getting responses. And no they wont get notification but if they remember you then they might check your profile and find you are not friends with them.

Mylot will not notify them. But if they want to send you a PM, they will not be able to do it. I delete friends once in a while. I don`t like people that are inactive for months and I immediatly delete spammers.

I don't think they will got notified about this even they are I don't think they care cause they are not active here

not sure I have deleted some that are no longer heree so dont think the y got notigied and I have had no comeback on any others I deleted

Mylot won’t send a notification on deletion of friends; the same time if you remove then mylot won’t send notification on your topics to those people. I could easily recognize when people deleted me from the list. So far I noticed two people and I have seen their topics in mylot and surprised why I didn’t get any notify on this regard. In detailed checking I realized they deleted me from the list. I felt hurt on the initial time then I learnt to deal with them calmly. There is nothing wrong to updating your list of friends with active friends. If an inactive person may return back to mylot and find out he/she removed from the list of friends, it may be hurting. So I delete only those friends from mylist whose profile banned by mylot. In case of deletion by the member, the profile will automatically removed from our list of friends, in case of banning by mylot the user name exists but we can’t open their profile.

hi dream home I have had to delete about twenty who have been gone for months so I doubt if they know it as they evidently disliked mylot or they would not have stayed away for months like that. If they come back fine as they can ask to be my friend again. but I can only handle so many friends.

No, they won't know as they won't be notified. But they will just notice a change in their myLot email notifications about discussions started that yours is not on it. I have only deleted 1 friend who requested to be added one time. I had to delete him because I didn't like most of the topics he started.

I have deleted some friends, and it is highly doubtful they know it. I only delete the ones that have been goine a f3ew years, as i don't think they will be coming back, but hey if they do, they can just add me again if they choose to. Every once in awhile, I have to go through my freinds list to see if they are active or not. I have deleted quite a few already. If they have only been goine a few months, i will keep them for a while longer to see if they do come back, as sometimes after a few months, they do decide to come back. Just like what mike have said, the only time that a member will know that he has been deleted from one of his friend's list is when he goes searching on his list and doesn't find your name anymore.

There is no notification system about friends deleted. So only way a person can find out is by searching in friend list. If the person you deleted have small friend list then obviously he will get to know that you had deleted him. And also if you delete a person then he will not get notifications about your activities so he will search you in his friend list and eventually he will know the fact then.
