I got the following post on my wall: WARNING!!! FACEBOOK HAS CHANGED THEIR PRIVACY SETTINGS ONCE MORE!!! DUE TO THE NEW “GRAPH APP” ANYONE ON FACEBOOK (INCLUDING OTHER COUNTRIES) CAN SEE YOUR PICTURES, LIKES, AND COMMENTS. The next 2 weeks I will be posting this, and please once you have done it please post DONE! Those of you who do not keep my information from going out to the public, I will have to DELETE YOU! I want to stay PRIVATELY connected with you. I post shots of my family that I don't want strangers to have access to!!! This happens when our friends click "like" or "comment"... automatically, their friends would see our posts too. Unfortunately, we cannot change this setting by ourselves because Facebook has configured it that way. PLEASE place your mouse over my name above (DO NOT CLICK), a window will appear, now move the mouse on “FRIENDS" (also without clicking), then down to "Settings", click here and a list will appear. REMOVE the CHECK on "LIFE EVENTS" and "COMMENTS & LIKES" and "PHOTOS". By doing this, my activity among my friends and family will no longer become public. Now, copy and paste this on your wall. Once I see this posted on your page, I will do the same. THANK YOU VERY MUCH You might like to do this. Just thought of bringing this to your notice

My profile is kept private. I only allow my friends to have access to my account. And I did uncheck the status updates of several friends coz I really do not want to be updated by them. My account would sometimes be flooded with notifications from online sellers.

When you allow friends to have access to your page they would have commented, liked, etc and this activity now goes global as it is mentioned in my post. One of my friends posted that on my wall. I have only done that with regard to her but I do not know how this whole thing will pan out in the end.

Well, if that was really the new thing in Facebook, then it is one measure that they have to do in order for people to be really careful with the things that they post online. Coz when you see Facebook now, not all could have the discipline to give out real positive comments that they even post "sub-standard" and offensive photos. I think that they should really start cleaning up Facebook to eliminate such pages and profiles which can harm others most especially the kids who have access to it.

I have lost interest. I even deactivated my account but friends wanted me back. I post nothing now but have in the past a whole lot! Ugh...

Interesting. A lot of these things are a hoax, I wonder if this one is as well.

Hm, interesting, I suppose the new search is not a hoax. I wonder if changing the settings will truly make much difference though, it seems ridiculously easy to stalk people unless they have decent privacy settings no matter what, and even then there are apparently ways around it for people who know what they are doing.

Is this true that they Facebook changed their settings again? How do you know that they changed they settings? If that's true, maybe i better deactivate my facebook account for the meantime and after facebook fix that settings that's the time i will activate my account again. Thank you so much for your information.

They have an Apn that enables any one to access stuff from our pages if we leave it open to public. You could select the option 'friends only' and request your friends to do likewise.

I received this message from several friends in Facebook but I haven't done anything yet. I'm engrossed in my offline job and I'm so busy that I could not set aside my work just to do it. However, thanks for this discussion, I have read it fully. I may try doing it in a few days.

I get the feeling this is a laborious process. We may have to comply with all our friends!

I don't make posts or upload pictures on facebook that I am not ready to let everyone see. This looks complicated to me because I am not that familiar with the mechanics of facebook. Thank you for the information though.

You could opt for 'friends only' and ask your friends to do likewise. This way no one will have access to your stuff.

Im sorry, I find it really hard to follow what instructions i should be doing. I hoped you have illustrated it here better, by not constructing it in one whole paragraph. I honestly see a lot of capitalized letters and a lot of punctuation marks (!!!, " "). =( You do meant well and has given us warnings, and all. appreciate it that much! I'll see what I can do with my account As i think i have got a few photos, a couple of likes i did on my friends' posts, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry chiyosan. It is not my creation but something that is doing the rounds everywhere. I too received it in the same fashion. You need to disable your public status and go private. You need to just copy paste this on your wall and your friends will take care of their status.
