I always noticed every Valentine’s day that restaurants are filled with many people, lovers and families. Even malls are filled with men and women with roses or Valentine gifts as you can see from the decors of the things they have in their hands. Streets are filled with people buying a rose or two. Even malls are decorated to the max with Valentine’s décor.
In deed I think I will agree to what Yahoo has placed in their news about the Philippines being the world leader in love. Here’s the news link http://ph.news.yahoo.com/ph-named-the--world-leader-in-love--081954061.html
What’s your thoughts guys?

I like this festival, it's romantic and full of love. I think all the people especially the couples or young people who are in love should celebrate on valentine's day. It's not a festival in China, we have Chinese valentine's day. But I find Chinese people like western Valentine's day more than our own valentine's day. Ours is on the lunar July, the seventh, we also call it "double seven".
No matter which festival, western or Chinsed, I think it's a festival which conveys messages of devoted loyal love between married or unmarried couples who want to grow old together.

Indeed, Valentine's day reminds us of giving a special day for our special love. It's a day to show our love to one another without feeling corny, because everybody gets corny on this day.
Western or Chinese, they all show their love on Valentine's Day.

I think the reason Valentine's Day is so much celebrated in the Philippines is because Filipinos are very sensitive and romantic. We also tend to "over-celebrate" any occasion that we encounter. There are even some provinces that have fiestas that last up to a week or two. It is indeed appropriate to tag the Philippines as a world leader in love.

Yes, Filipinos are always finding a way to celebrate. That's because they all have love to share in their hearts. Thus, they really celebrate Valentine's Day!
It's a day to show love without being cheezy!

I witnessed this myself... and we also took part in this... we went to the mall after my husband's work... and it was filled with a lot of people... lovers, families, friends... a lot the kids were wearing red clothes... and they were content just to sit on the grass, play, or just chat...
The restaurant we chose was also full of people... but good thing we were able to get the seats that we wanted... it is just too bad that the mall did not extend their hours... there were still a lot of people who wanted to stay... but they were reminded that the mall would be closing in 15 minutes...

So you see, you too noticed that everyone seems to be so in love with Valentine's day.
Just seeing those people wearing red and eating at restaurants and bringing with them love decors, makes us already happy that this day is indeed a day of heart!

hello simplyd, in deed Valentines day is a special and a very romantic to celebrate, though its not our own festive day. since we have some traits of western culture we likely celebrate valentines day. as far as I remember when I was in my elementary years one of our teacher taught us about Valentines day. every love day she told us to do some card for our loved ones and to wear red shirt. its really nice that we are celebrating Valentines day. this proves that we Filipinos are really romantic.

Hi there! Filipinos are highly romantic , sentimental and close family ties that is why Valentines day are celebrated by not only lovers or couples but by whole family.
Now given a name as being world leader in love , i hope this love would have its deeper meaning for each and everyone and not just for Valentines day only. Hope people will live the spirit of Valentine's day everyday so we can no longer hear news of raped , of malls being penetrated by bad people , of crimes here and there. If only all of us lived in the truest essence of love , this world would be a better place to live in.

That's true my friend. If only all the people will be that way, then it will always be Valentine's Days everyday.

I will not be surprised if one day Feb 14 will be declared as a legal holiday haha. Last Valentine's Day, we are on our way to Cubao to go to Bicol. We we're stuck in heavy traffic. I've noticed that most cabs are occupied by couples. I really agree that Valentine's Day is one of the most celebrated days of the year.
