I never create a friend relationship within my work environment. Is that bad? The things is I don't like conflicts, I don't like excuses and I don't like gossip. When I am at work. All I would do is to work. Yes, sometimes have talking with collegues but not as a friend. I just respect them for telling some stories.
I feel sorry for my collegue who is an area manager for several years until now. I believe he tries hard to reach that point to be an area manager but is title really matter if nobody respects you outside your work environment. Sometimes, I saw him with his collegues drinking and laughing but there is gossip that I believe is not good. He tries to reach out by trying to pay bills of what they have eaten and drinks but after that. Nothing happens. He thinks, he has a group of friends but not.

Not all people could be that bad....I think it is okay to make friends, but just limit the info you tell them about yourself.

Well, since you are both in the same office, then all you could do is to be just as civil as you can to the people. I know that some wouldn't really want to be too close with others. And it is fine. The important thing is your relationship with the people around you does not become detrimental to your work.

We should really make a limit between friendship and work. I make friend with anybody but when it comes to work, I really make sure that I do what I supposed to do and avoid any activities that would bring conflict with my work.
I prefer to have close friends outside my work environment.
Have a nice day!

Same here. Conflicts starts when we open up something personal with our collegues.
