There was this woman in her 60's who works at the salon who suddenly removed her eyeglasses, licked each glass and used the hemline of her blouse to clean the glasses. Then she examined the glasses and, not contented, licked the glasses again and wiped them again with her blouse. WTF! I would NEVER lick my eyeglasses to clean them. A friend of mine who has an optical clinic suggested that I use shampoo to clean my eyeglasses, then tissue them dry.
This is my first time to see someone licking her glasses to clean them. Do you also do the same thing?

Different people have different customs. I clean my glasses sometimes with the hem of my blouse, but they are never so dirty so as to need licking. We are not near shampoo all the time, although she would at a saloon. Still, I have lots of shampoo at home and I don`t think that I have cleaned my glasses with it once in my life. I would touch my tongue with something dirty. But I can breathe over the glasses to have some steam. Take care!

Woah, no way! I would never do the same and I have never encountered this kind of act before. Is it normal?? Normally, I use some lotion to clean my eye glasses, but most of the time I just wipe them without wetting the glasses. I seldom wear my glasses when I'm outside though because contact lenses are more comfy. Still, I could not imagine sticking out my tongue to clean those glasses. It's quite shocking to me reading your post and yeah, it's gross. By the way, I agree shampoo works fine on glasses.

What? I think it's gross. I have seen people who would breathe onto the lenses then wipe them for more clarity. But never lick the lenses. I have lens wipes to clean my lenses. I do remember during our snorkeling activity, if our goggles become cloudy, we spit on it and then rinse it with the seawater.

Ewww think of all the germs that have landed on her glasses! She is putting them straight into her mouth. Yuk! Dust, god knows what is on them. I have a small cloth that I keep in my glasses container to use on them, or sometimes I will run the glasses under cold water to clean them, but never with my tongue, gross!

Honestly, I do have to admit that this is something that I've done before. However, it isn't something that I would ever make a habit of doing. The reason that I was forced to clean my glasses in that way was because of the fact that I was camping out with some friends of mine and we didn't have access to any clean water that we weren't drinking at the time and I really did need to clean my glasses. Now given the choice, I would use tap water, but that wasn't something that was available at the time.

Haha! That's so gross!
I have done it yes! I was wearing glasses since primary school and somoena at school that I can't remember now, told me that they are cleaned better if you lick the glass, obviously they made fun of me at the time! So I cleaned it this was for a few days until my mother saw me and she explained to me that it was not healthy and she showed me how I should clean them with the cleaning cloth when I am outside, or with water if they are dirty and there is a bathroom nearby.
