Here in Mexico where the min. wage is 60.00-75.00 per week.
Gas prices are at a all time high $ 4.39 per gallon.
How do they expect people to pay that here?
Problem here in Mexico, is we have just one gas company, and the government owns it.
So they control the price.
Many travel to usa now, to get gas a few cents cheaper.
It was the other way around for many years here.
How is the gas prices in your country??
Have a super weekend at mylot.

We are seeing around $3.50 -$4.00 per gallon across the nation now, which no doubt is going to continue moving higher when Spring is approaching, until end of Summer when number of people travel by road and air is leveled off. Since Mexican government own the only one gas company that supply gasoline to all the domestic drivers, i assume they are more than determined to make it a monopoly market indefinitely and no desire to open up the oil market to competitor, it is too lucrative for your government to let go after all judging at the enormous profit generated at the end of the year in Mexico national oil's book. I seriously doubt they care about how you are going to pay for the price of gasoline, they probably adopt a universal policy like US major oil corporation where the saying go like this, "if you can't afford to pay, then don't drive and take a walk", it is a simple solution to the problem.

Well, you know that as long as your government officials and the president can afford to pay that price without suffer any pain inside their deep pocket, there is no chance they will see any problem with such high gasoline price in the pump station for common people, no reason for them to care about commoners especially if their national oil is reaping huge profit at the end of the accounting period.

they dont care, as they control the price. Mexico needs to be like the usa and let other gas companies set up here. But they wont. Especailly with our new mob president..

Hi Mariaperalta. Wow that is high. Here in Missouri USA it was last week only 3.39 a gallon. But since then I have heard on the news that it rose up another 20 cents which is bad especially since we live in a place you can't make much money. We live on a fixed income and can't really afford that kind of price for gas. It is a bad thing for all over the US the price is really getting outrageous and it is going to get to where no one can afford the gas. I don't understand this either. The rich is always trying to get richer by taking what us poor when we really can't afford any more being put on us. How is the grocery prices there in Mexico? Here everything is going higher and higher!

Hi Mariaperalta. I hate it cost so much but they won't raise what they pay us to help for the raise in everything else.
Hi Redredrose and welcome to my lot. I am going to send you a friends request so we can chat a bit. Would love to know more about you. It was 3.59 a couple of days ago and it is still going up. Hi neighbor!

alittle high there as well, but when the min. wage is 7.00 per hour or more there, and 75.00 per week here. You can understand how hard it is here.

I am sure the price of gas is going to go up. Those companies are greedy. I knew this guy years ago that worked for Exxon-Mobile. He told me that even if they charged 25 cents a gallon, they would be making trillions. They do this because they can he said. Their mark-up is extremely high on gas. It's all a game to the oil companies. And we the people suffer.

I'm not sure what it is here I haven't gone to town recently. I'm sure it is around that or maybe a little lower if we're lucky. I wonder how the world will keep surviving with gas as high as it is. This is winter time and usually summer the prices are even higher. So it is going to become ridiculous

I just thought of this, that a gallon of milk is around that price here! Too bad you can't put the milk in your tank or drink the gas .. then we wouldn't have to spend so much for both!

I was shocked at the price of gas when I went to fill up yesterday, actually the first time this year, I only use my car two times a week to the gym, there is a new crime wave going around here, because of the expense of fuel people are going around stealing gas from tanks of cars! It's a worrying trend which can only get worse, as the Petrol companies are warning us of the gas going up even more. It's crazy, why can't the government do something about it.

It's about that here too. that is terrible for you guys over there. The problem is, gas is something you need, o they know they can get as much as they want. But for anyone not working, if you can, try staying home, or walking if you can. I'm not sure what the temprature is like there right now. I have a feeling if our president's idea to make minimum wage $9.00 hr goes through, we will see over $5.00 a gallon. Oh, by the way, I live in Michigan.

In my town in the USA it is $3.39 but i don't drive which is good tho my hubby does so we are still spending money on gas. Where my mom lives in Florida it is like 20 to 30 cents more. I do however see some places where it's $3.29 or $3.30 but it just depends on where in the country you are. Tho for my hubby to have filled his tank one day costs $34.00. Gas prices are outrageous.

We are seeing around 3.64 to 3.99 if you want premium. It's ridiculous. I don't know how people afford to work with raising gas prices. We don't have public transportation where I live (small town USA) so it gets really frustrating with cost of living on the rise.
I really don't know how people do it on single incomes anymore.

Hi maria!
The price of one liter of gasoline in our place is 51 pesos which is more or less equivalent to $1.27 and one gallon is equivalent to 4 liters, then a galoon of gas i our place would cost $5.1 (estimate) which is more expensive than where you live.
The minimum wage in our place is 419 pesos ($10). We have this oil deregulation law and the 3 big companies who owns the gasoline industry in the country can dictate the price and the government cannot do anything about it.
Even those who do not own a vehicle is greatly affected by the high price of gasoline.

A gallon in the UK is about £6.30, which is around $10...
We sell ours by the litre, so it never occurs to us what the price is per gallon.
