Paypal as regard to cheques

The company where I order my annual magazine subscription has now gone to Paypal and that makes me confused. I do have a credit card linked with Paypal, but I only use Paypal to deposit money from well, you know what and others as well as withdrawing it to my bank account when I have enough. So whenever I buy something online even with it uses Paypal I say I do not have one and just use my credit card.
The reason is that I am unsure whether they will take the money I have in the Paypal account and then use my credit card for the balance. Usually that money in Paypal i designated for a certain purpose such as for my emergency fund or for something specific such as when I was saving for something.
So I would like to know if I have anything to worry about? If I used paypal, would the purchase be all on my credit card or not.

It is what I thought. That is why Ijust pay by credit card. The money I have in paypal is to download to my bank and use for what I am saving for. I have not verified my bank account and do not intend to. I need that money.

Besides I need the money for other things and some of them are bills. So do not want to find that I am unable to pay for them because I paid for that "as seen on TV"thing through Paypal or that magazine.

I've been using PayPal for years. Started paying for items for you know what as well. I know what you mean, seems every time I buy something online lattely, they give a paypal option. Maybe it's because I'm too lazy to grab my credit card and input all the numbers. It's all coming from the same source - paypal deducts it from my checking account anyway. And frankly, I do trust paypal after so many years and I prefer not to scatter my credit card numbers all over the place. Feels more secure. But my paypal is linked to my bank account, not a credit card.

I pay most of my bills online with my banking account and only have a couple of utility bills and the cell phone that I pay using a credit card. And I pay for my two magazine subscriptions with credit card and they only come up every two years. I also do not have enough in my paypal to pay for anything. If I had a lot of business online, I could use my paypal account, but I really love getting interest from my bank account. So I prefer credit card, only I hate taking my credit card to the light so I could read the numbers more clearly.

PayPal will always use the money that's already in your account when you send money. They never give you an option to use another funding source unless you don't have enough money in your account to cover the payment you're making.
I think the only way you'd be able to use PayPal for your subscription without spending your balance or withdrawing it would be to open a second PayPal account. That's a pain because you can't use the same bank account or credit/debit card with two PayPal accounts. My husband tried to add our joint bank account to his PayPal account and they denied it because it was already linked to my PayPal account.
I hope the company that does your magazine subscriptions is still taking other forms of payment, too!

I never keep enough money in my Paypal account to pay for anything, so for me the best way is either to write a check or to use my Mastercard account. Since I usually save up for the magazine and because I want to points, using Mastercard is best. Now if there was something that is under twenty dollars that I can use Paypal but with shipping charges, that is not an option. The trouble is once you have a paypal account with credit card linked, if you tell the truth that you have it, you have to use it. So really forced to lie.

I just asked when I order from a company that uses Paypal and want to use that method instead of putting it on my credit card, if Paypal takes payment from what is in my Paypal account and later charges the rest on my credit card account.
I am not that stupid that I do not know how much an item costs plus the shipping charges and on top of that the extra taxes.
