Have you experienced that sometimes your job is not worth it? I want to have job and applied and get hired around 3 times in different companies. Then, when I had the job, since I am a newbie in a company and the work, you know? the pressure and anxiety of the job. Then you manage to survive but then you might find people in the work place who does not like you in the first place. Sometimes, you try to be as extra nice as you can but you cannot still connect with them. You will try to impress them and work hard to perform well but they will have favorites and keep on comparing you to their favorites that you cannot simply level up with them. You want to make friends with them but the old employees seem to make you feel that you can't easily be "one of them" since you are new. I may have the money every month but the stress is too much, it's not worth at all. Then so I finally decided to work homebase and after long years of searching I found a good paying job without the need to work for others and have a boss. Maybe, I am not just lucky to find good sets of people who will accept me and support me. And so I say my working years make me crazy, and luckily I escape the horror and now I can earn decently at home and just plans to have my own business.

They are called teething troubles. But it is funny that your boss compares you to his/her favourites which is normally not done. When you are new how can they do that? That is being mean. But if you can still manage to float in the long run you will stand to gain rather than changing jobs.

If at times I'm doing better than their favorites, they feel threatened as if they need to kick me right away to preserve their favorites.

There are others working there and I do not see why only you are being victimised. Is there anything that you can do to change the scenario? Every one needs a job and most hold on to their jobs till retirement but in your case you are finding it difficult. Have you done some soul searching averygirl?

Well, in the last company I applied I am lucky to stay for one whole year and there I met around 3 newbies who manage to stay up to 3 to 4 months only and they always have memo or issues from the HR department, so far I never had problems with HR department but lately, bullying is very tough.

You see if you just can not bear the tantrums in the office and feel uncomfortable over there, the option left to you is to leave the job. It is always difficult to adjust in a new company with new colleagues. If you have the courage and resources to start your own business, you could do that and could live peacefully.

You should do whatever your mind/heart says and whatever gives your satisfaction and pleasure.

Yeah, all I want is to earn decently. I am not there to harm anyone and I desire to do good but if it does not work then look for as many options.

Hi Averygirl, I actually have never felt that any job I've had "wasn't worth it". I guess we just have different outlooks on it. I don't apply for a job looking to make friends although that is a cool perk of any job. My main objective is to earn money. I do the best I can to learn the job and do what is expected of me. While it does bother me some if I don't fit in or someone doesn't like me, I have to say that the paycheck is my top priority. If I were to find a job that paid me as well and as reliable and allowed me to stay at home then I would take it up in a heartbeat. I used to make some decent money working for myself doing a bunch of odd jobs and babysitting but that too has its downfalls . You have to figure up taxes and then of course work extra hard to drum up the business. Sounds like you've found something that works for you. What is it that you are doing??

I also think of that. I am not to take anyone personally and I will try to do the work that is in front of me but I did not expect that it was tough. However, I just want to experience working at home and still looks for real job someday.

See it's not the amount of money that can make us happy. I prefer a small salary but I'm enjoying and I will not lose my sanity.

I actually have to say that I've never had a job where I really didn't feel like the job was worth the time that I was spending working. I think that the reason that this has been the case for me is because of the fact that I've always looked for a job in a field that I enjoy so that I will never be able to think that the job is just about the money that I would be bringing home. I would actually encourage you to do the same kind of thing yourself. If you are able to find a job in a field that you are passionate about, then you will never feel like your job isn't worth it.

Well, that's right maybe because I take this job because I am just force to take it and this is not my first choice for job. I should have not let myself give in easily to what other people want. It's important that you get the job that you really like and very much like not because you are made to believe that it's the best for you.

I will work someday in a company too because I love meeting new faces and new environment. For the meantime, I love my homebased jobs and I see my family needs me at home all the time. My sister can get jobs in book companies. So, I can get jobs to proofread and even write sample lesson plans for school. The money is not that big but good enough for working at home.

I am still in my first full-time job. There were times that I felt this is not worth it because of the stress, the pressure and sometimes I feel like I am not growing in this field. But whenever I think of the experiences I get to have outside my job, I get back the power to continue moving forward. I work in a different country. So sometimes I feel that being away from home is not worth it but when I remember my travels, the people I have met, the friends I made, and the church I have now as my family, I thank my job for bringing me here. So after all, there are lots of things to thank for than to complain about this job.

Yeah, when you feel like you are not growing and things get negative, it's not worth to keep.

Luckily, I find my job very good. My supervisor is a good person, he try to protect the newbies and help us to grow up. Last half year, I began my first job, I can feel and someone in the team do not like me, but I try to act well and treat everyone in the team in a good manner. Now I think I am accepted by the team. In some degree, newbies will be asked to do some meaningless things, but as you become expert in the field, things will change.

Fortunately for me, I did not experience what you went through. It's a totally different case for me since I was constructively dismissed when a new VP was hired in my office. I was still not at a retirable age then (up to now) but our new VP thought that she wanted fresh faces who would bow to her every whim. Anyway, in the end, it was their loss not mine. Now, I'm earning more than what I previously earned and I can now control how much I earn. If I'm not feeling well, then I can just take it slow and easy and not tire myself too much. But if I need some funds to pay the bills, then it's time to work double time and try to earn as much hours before the weekly cut-off. It really feels good to take the reins and be in control right? We're just lucky to have work and still earn enough for what we need so it's really something to be thankful for.

Yup, we can be choosy too as there are people who are very choosy as well when hiring employees. The world is so big and one just have to search all the time and it's not impossible to find a job that we will enjoy, guilt free and we earn the money we need.

Glad that you've finally found the perfect place that you can both earn and have a peace of mind. Some people do feel the same way a you do. Unfortunately, not all can be lucky to have a good online job so they have remained with their office jobs to sustain the needs of their family.

I believe, you just need to apply and apply and then look for homebased jobs too. Some companies are not stable and not all people inside companies are constructive or responsive people too. If you just explore as much as you can, you will find a job that you can call your home.
