We are really having unseasonably cold weather here in South Florida last night into today and into tonight. I live in Florida because I enjoy the nice warm/hot weather so it is not a surprise that I am not a happy camper right now with the brittle cold snap that is happening. The overnight temperature got down to 44 degrees, with a wind chill factor of 32!! Being that we rarely get into the 60's let alone the 40's it is freezing for me!
I stayed inside and made soup, chicken, and potatoes for dinner today. Thank goodness we didn't have to turn on the heater yet, it is warm enough as long as we don't open any doors or windows. I feel like we are bears hibernating!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Florida usually has hot and humid weather all year round. So a cold snap there must be very unexpected. The wind chill adds to make it feel even colder. You might have to turn on your heater soon.
If I visited Florida I would expect tropical sunshine and blue skies. Funnily enough we had similar weather to your unseasonable weather when I was in Belize. They cold me they were experiencing a cold snap. It was cool and cloudy. I know cold is January in my home country.
It is shame weather patterns have changed due to global warming.

Sounds like a cuddle up with hot cocoa and electric blanket sort of time. I can imagine it is hard when you aren't used to it. I am a native of Virginia where we have winter weather at least three months out of the year. Here what you experienced is mild and we would have to use the heat. Hang in there and think warm thoughts.

It was nice here for a day or two, but we will be having snow soon. I know that the cold certainly is penetrating to people who do not usually experience it. I hope your warm returns soon.

I know that you are probably going to laugh at me, but I have to admit that I'm jealous of the weather that you've been having in Florida because I really don't like the freezing temperatures. I suppose I really do live in the wrong place seeing as how I live in Kentucky. I hope that one day when I'm older that I will be able to relocate to a place where we are able to enjoy warmer weather every day of the year and I'd have to travel if I wanted to see some snow.

I also live in South Florida but I love the cold! In the summertime, I hate the heat and humidity that we always get. This cold weather was a really nice change to have, especially since I work at the Ugg store at the mall it made people want to buy warm boots!
Whenever it gets in the 60s, my house gets freezing cold, my room in particular. I think it's because it was made to be a Florida home to keep cool in the summer heat and when it's cold outside the house just gets colder. My house has felt like an icebox even with the ac turned off. The night it was really cold out the heat ended up coming on at our house.
It's starting to warm up this week but I do hope we have a few more cold days.
