It's been said for several times that money can't buy happiness, but is it really the case?
Buying stuff, using your money and going on a travel may not bring you happiness forever but
for a moment does it not make you happy? Can we safely say that this is somehow buying one's happiness?
In an internet article, it said that you can buy happiness. However, if happiness can be bought, we want to ask, ?What should I buy to make me happy??.In this article, there are various ideas but I will be discussion on one. If you want to buy happiness, rather than buying material stuff, it's better to buy experience. Buying experience means like going on a trip, or doing something firsthand. To put it explicitly, instead of buying a new phone, if it is of the same price,
it's more worth the money if you go on a domestic tour. One research was conducted to compare the happiness and satisfaction level of those who use their money to buy material stuff and those who use theirs to experience new things. The result shows that people who use their money to buy experience are a lot happier than the previous.
The first reason is material things are easily lost, broken, thus, the happiness they may bring is very short-lived. Furthermore, people have the tendency to be jealous of other people's possessions. The more we look at what other people bought, we feel dissatisfied of what we already have, and thus the level of happiness falls down.
The second reason is that experience is unique. Even other people have experienced the same thing as yours, you still differ in perspective, the things you felt, and so many other personal things. Unlike material things, experience is something you can't compare with others.
The last reason is that even time passes by, the memories you had in the past can still bring you happiness. The more you remember, somewhat the more you regard it importantly. Like the first time I went to Disneyland, by just thinking of it, it already brings me joy. And even it is already just a memory now, it will be forever something that will remind me that I was very happy at that time, and that makes me happy now.
Sometimes I think a lot about money and how should I use them, after having this information, I think I know what should I do so I'd be happier.

I want to say Happiness is far from Happy. The one u bought can only make u happy and that's transient or at most for a period of time. But happyniess is an abstract name which lasts forever and nothing can give an identical worth with it. That's the difference between HAPPY and HAPPINESS.Hope u understand.

Money is one gate of many gates for happiness. when we are able to study more to increase our knowlege to travel for learning more and having more experience, money is important for that but it is really matter how to use that money to make you happy and better in life.

Yes, indeed it is a matter of how we use money. And since we have one life to live, we should buy the things that make us really happy. Something that will give us true contentment. That's why it is better to share it with others. Because true happiness comes from giving and serving others.

happiness cant be bought because money only isnt enough for you to be happy. it is needed more than that for you to become happy. but sure money helps to be happy but isnt a reason to be happy. even people without much money can be completely happy.

If we need to buy happiness, then most probably I wouldn't be able to find it coz I am short of cash!
But seriously, the only real happiness that I can think of now is having a life for my family that is free from other people's help.

And it is great to know that you are more than satisfied with what you have now--your family.

This is a very good discussion. First off, money really has nothing to do with happiness. Yes, we can buy memories as you stated. And we can buy those material things as well. But true happiness is free. I can go back in time when I was younger and I have many memories that cast me nothing. Yes, there were a few that I spent money on like some concerts or places I traveled. But if you look at the big picture, even though money has nothing to do with happiness, it is a major part of the fabric of everything we do anyway. Lets say you're married, that costs money, you have a child, now thats happiness, but that costs money. So, the essence is that happiness has to come from within. If not, it does not matter where you go, what you do or what you buy.

I think that when it comes to money there needs to be balanced. It can do a lot for us we all know that. But it isn't everything and we shouldn't be willing to sacrifice everything in order to get it. We have to be balanced and do make good decisions when it comes to using our resources. We have to use it wisely so it allows us the time needed to really do the things we enjoy.
