S Africa defeated Pakistan in 2nd Test nullifying Pak expectations !

S Africa proved they are the best team in Test cricket defeating Pakistan by 4 wickets in the 2nd test. Pakistan was with definite upper hand after the collapse of S Africa's batting power before spin bowler Saeed Ajmal in their 1st innings. But tail enders started the fight back bringing a good 1st innings total.

Meaning you must always strive hard to be at the best, now you lost tomorrow you will win. Just don't give up and in another way don't relax for you are at the top always remember your opponent is also thinking for the best to win.

Yes, hard working to better abilities is unavoidable to keep position as winner as well as to be winner. Any laziness or absentmindedness goes to advantage of opponents.

SA has always been performing with their full efforts even with new players,they are already favorite team to win against Pak in entire series,Pak played better than 1st test but they could not transform same performance in second inn.of 2nd test,this is the main difference between these two teams.

Inconsistency of Pakistan team to keep up good form made their chance to victory away. The same factor can affect Pakistan team's performance throughout this series. On the other hand S Africa is a well balanced team in all sectors of play. As you said their new players are playing impressively.

Yeah, that was an awesome performance from the South African team. Till the last day everyone expected that Pakistan will win this test match.But the South African bowlers really spoiled their dreams.Especially Philander who took a 5 wicket haul in the first innings also took 4 wickets and lead the Pakistan team to an unexpected lost.Once again South Africa proved that they are the best.

Recently S Africa is making such surprising results after recovering from worse conditions in so many matches. There are some trilling Tests between S Africa and Australia ended with S Africa's win. Philander's performance is the main factor in most of such wins.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Yes of course, SA have maintained their stronghold in the test series and have defeated Pak team again and this time they have showed how they can hold their nerves also. I think it would be interesting to see how SA team would maintain their winning streak in the coming matches as well.

This win is impressive one indeed. There was a discussion here 2 days back predicting Pakistan victory after S Africa lost their 5 main batsmen for small score on 2nd day. But S Africa showed power their to fight back and brought this surprising final result. In my opinion they are well ahead of Pakistan team in all fields of the game except when Saeed Ajmal get his magic turn.

I saw a cricket match on espn national here in Mexico a few weeks back. Man, people really like that sport there. Like we like our soccer here

Hello mariaperalta.
I recollect an earlier response about your interest in viewing cricket matches. Cricket is popular in old commonwealth countries. Mexico is famous in international football. They are a prominent team in most of FIFA Cup final rounds. They need a player like Maradona or Cruyff to emerge as cup winners.

At present S Africa is fortunate to have plenty of talented players in all sections of play. New comers too are equally performing. They have a team friendly Skipper too. Let us hope they can keep it up.

Right now Pakistan does not have good batting lineup and they look good batting team in the paper and not otherwise. I think they should have some consistent batsman to win the matches. I think their spin bowling is very good.

Certainly inconsistency in keeping up good form is the main problem to Pakistan team. Their spinners especially Saeed Ajmal can turn matches in their favour even on pitches that have no favour to spin.

A good contested match. Yet, South Africa emerged winners even after a few problems.
I am not sure how many matches are still to be played, but from here on it will be quite well fought.

Yes, up to 3rd day Pakistan was with clear upper hand in this test. S Africa's weakness against spin bowling brought tense moments to them since Saeed Ajmal was with his best form. But all turned at the end in S Africa's victory. Now they are 2-0 up and won this Test series with 3 matches
