They say when you are truly in love, you would do anything for that person.
People say they would catch the stars, move mountains, dive the deepest ocean,
doing the impossible to express how much they love the person.
When you're in love, everything about the person you love is worth-praising.
They looks cute when they are mad. Their rants are music to your ears. Everything they
do are perfect, without fault.
Most of all, the person you love is the one you think about most of the time,
and you jump at any chance to be with them.
And that same goes with loving God. I read an article of Francis Chan about
being in love with God. He talked about how his wife's grandma showed so much love
for God. She acted toward God the way we act toward the person we're madly in love with.
In his book God Is the Gospel, John Piper essentially asks whether we are in love with God:
The critical question for our generation--and for every generation--is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ was not there?
If you're truly in love with Jesus, without Him you will never be satisfied. Like a lover would give up everything just to be with the person he/she loves.
God is glorified when we crave for and seek His love. When we desire Him more than anything and praise Him not out of obligation but because we love Him and we want Him to show him that.
Loving makes us free. Not free to do indulge to our sinful nature, but free to serve another in love. When we love, we don't need to worry about doing wrong because if it is the right kind of love our actions will follow through.
He posed these questions:
Why do so few people genuinely find joy and pleasure in their relationship with God? Why do most people feel they have to either pay God back for all He’s done (buy His love) or somehow keep making up for all their inadequacies and failures (prove their love)?
"Lukewarm living and claiming Christ’s name simultaneously is utterly disgusting to God. And when we are honest, we have to admit that it isn’t very fulfilling or joyful to us, either. But the solution isn’t to try harder, fail, and then make bigger promises, only to fail again. It does no good to muster up more love for God, to will yourself to love Him more. When loving Him becomes obligation, one of many things we have to do, we end up focusing even more on ourselves.", Chan said.
We are called to surrender everything to Christ, and fall in love with Him. We will then see how He works in us and know that it is more satisfying than anything else.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Yes u are absolutely right, we have to love the Almighty equally as we love our near and dear ones. we have to show our utmost devotion to Him and shower all our love and affection to Him so that we can garner blessings always. It is our responsibility to feel connected with the Almighty otherwise there is of no use to stay alive in this world.
What say?

But we shouldn't really try to hard as stated up there. We must surrender it to God so we won't feel like we are obligated, that the whole relationship we have with Jesus is just out of obligation. He wants a real relationship with us. When we love, we just do things freely and thinking of it as something natural. We give time naturally. We praise Him naturally. When we love Him truly things just become natural for us. No feeling of obligation. Not feeling burdened at all.

Thank you for sharing this discussion. I agree with you... letting God in our lives and truly being in love with him will open up many things in our lives... we will definitely feel the difference of living a life with Christ in our hearts.
Surrendering everything to God we will always feel and know that we have everything covered no matter how hard our trials are... everything we have in life will work out for the good.
