These days my parents go out to prepare for the wedding of my brother,so I'm alone at home.Every day after work,I try to go to sleep before dark. While I always think of the horrific scene in the movies that I have seen before.Even though I keep the light on at sleep,I still feel scared and seem to hear some noise outside or in my house. The only thing I can do is to watch TV all the time until I fall into sleep because of fatigue.I really don't know what to do since I have to work the next day.Sleep is a thing that I enjoy before, but now sleep makes me suffer..

After reading your discussion, I found that I was not alone. When my husband is not at home, I am scared, too. I closed all the doors and shut me in my bedroom, leaving all the lights in my house on all night, and play computer all night, I am even afraid of going to the bathroom when I need to.

That's exactly what I go through!I lock the door as much as I can and close all the curtains.I will try to stay in bed no matter I want to drink some water,go to the washing room or anything else.

In terms of strange sound at night, listen to music is really a good idea to be not affected by the sound. Thanks for your good idea!

I know how you feel, because I also feel the same whenever I am home alone at nights. I cannot have a good night's sleep when it is just me in the house. Even though I have locked every door, gate and windows, I will still be paranoid. I always keep a couple of lights on just so I will not be scared of whatever things that play in my mind. I am such a scaredy cat, I admit. THat includes my wild imagination. My husband or parents often arrives the following morning with the lights still on.

well, I enjoy to be alone at home and no I am not afraid to sleep alone but if I start thinking about horror scene then I will be afraid so that much is in my capacity I try to avoid those memories and think about funny and comedy scenes.

If there were no night but daytime,I love to stay at home alone. It's a good idea to think of funny things. The problem is that it's so quiet at night that I become sensitive about any sound. What's worse,I'm good at relating the sound to the horrible scene..

that sounds funny,,, .... i was like you before couldn't sleep alone in the house but I'm happy that I have learned to overcome it.... psychologically speaking, it's only in your mind girl.....so, I think you have to train your mind to stop thinking that way...You , too can do it!! just need to practice!

I also feel scared when sleep at home alone,so i try to do some other things to disctract my attention or listen to some music.I know it's only us who can decide not to scare.Good luck to you and don't think too much. That would be better for you to fell to asleep.
