Why don't the democrats want to take guns from criminals?

Democrats, excited over the recent shootings, have been trying to do everything in their power to make it harder for law abiding citizens to get guns. They want to ban guns that look scary, limit the size of a clip, ban guns that use clips, publish the names and addresses of people who legally own guns, do more background checks, force people to prove they need a gun, limit guns only for hunting, allow people to only carry guns with no ammo, etc. So clearly, through all these laws, they want to make it difficult, or impossible for law abiding citizens to own or protect themselves with guns. What are they doing about criminals with guns? Nothing. If you're a criminal with a gun, none of these laws matter. These laws only apply to people who are trying to legally purchase guns. Meanwhile, our government is happily funneling guns to Mexican drug cartels that have used them against our border patrol.

I agree with Adoniah, it's a way to disarm the people so that they can't protect themselves against a hostile government. Once the law abiding citizens are disarmed the criminals will be able to further cow the good people, creating a siege state. The people will then scream for the government to do something and oppressive laws, censorship, and unconstitutional justice can be instituted with impunity under the guise of protecting the citizens. A police state that can control speech, actions, and even thoughts. People had better wake up, stop being afraid of the liberals. After all, only about 20% of voters in this country claim they are liberals. Conservatives are the majority but they are too intimidated to speak up and demand their government serve them instead of their serving the government.

If conservatives were the majority, I think we would have had a republican president. Just pointing that out. Secondly, there is an issue when you get around to all of the independent voters. There are many who don't identify with either side and have their own thoughts on the issues. Unfortunately for level minded conservatives, the crazy ones of you speak out the loudest same with the liberals. It is the more moderate people who get drowned out by the extremists on both sides. That is just common knowledge.

"If conservatives were the majority, I think we would have had a republican president. Just pointing that out." You're right. Dragon should have said "plurality." Even so, that number fluctuates a lot if you look at weekly and monthly polls.

You said it! See, the government-workers get more money for making you 'jump through more hoops.' Criminals have demonstrated that they WILL NOT jump through hoops.
