I wasted my time again...

It's Wednesday and I'm off from work. Woke up late again at 9:30. I don't like waking up this late because I feel like I've wasted precious time. I usually wake up at 4:45 to get ready and be in school at 7:30. I usually arrive home at 3:30 or 4 when there's traffic except on a Friday when i get home at 5. I take a shower, eat snacks then take a nap. When I wake up i get ready to get food for dinner then online classes start from 7 utnil 11 in the evening. That's my usual schedule. Every Wednesday and the weekends I'm free. If I didn't go anywhere, I would usually do my laundry or ironing, and clean my room and bathroom. The rest of the free time is spent talking to friends online or watching a movie. Lately though I haven't been getting much sleep because of the new friends i've met who like talking to me till midnight. Kind, old me couldn't refuse them. Thus the sleeping till past 1am and the waking up past 9! Do you feel like you waste your time when you're over sleeping?

I do not think that I have wasted a lot of time when I get up late. In fact, I really feel very happy when I realize that I have slept for so long and I have given my eyes a little more rest. I have been really busy, no time to even catch up some sleep for almost 8 months. SO, you should understand how much I really need that sleep. But then, when I have things to do, or when I have my friends calling up suddenly and informing that we are going out, that is when I feel like I should have got up early and be ready already to go out. But then, i still do not seriously regret. I love sleeping and anything for a good sleep is my policy.

Right. We do need to get a little rest beyond the usual sometimes. I don't know why i have this kind of thinking though. I just feel like there's always something important to do and I need to get up and not just sleep.

May be you do not enjoy sleeping for long. I know a few people like you who think that they can put the time to good use than to sleep which is a complete waste of time.

Hi toniganzon! In my case, its a no...because I sleep so hard, so I am very happy when I completed 8 hours of sleep because I really need it ( health reasons). I always fall asleep late at night it maybe because I'm a busy person, working.. studying , and lot of concern, my mind is super occupied with everything and my outlet is this " mylot"

You're young. I noticed when i was younger, i used to go to bed at 9 and wake up at 6am. That's about 9 hours of sleep. 10pm then was considered late for me to go to bed. That was when i was in my 20s. When i was over 30 I noticed i couldn't sleep early as i used to and I get up early as well.

the morning is my favourite part of the day and i, too, feel like i am wasting time if i sleep in very much. i generally get up around 7 during the week and around 8 on weekends. i have health issues and i always feel like i am tired in the afternoon, so the morning is the best time for me to get things done at home or at work.

Since i was a kid, i really like doing things in the morning than in the afternoon. I feel like i need to finish everything in the morning so i could enjoy the rest of the day doing whatever i want to do.

What was worse was that I found myself just lazing away as soon as I got up. Thank God, I have now turned out to be totally somebody new.

so your offline work (school) is only four days, then you also have an offline job, correct? my dream schedule is having wednesday and sunday off, but having 3 days off like yours is heaven! i knew someone like that who lived in a boarding house. she'd take a nap as soon as she came home then eat a late dinner. she has to wake up early because they have to line up for the showers. if you feel okay upon waking up, then it means your body needed the rest, so you don't feel bad about oversleeping. you're pretty responsible and organized with your housework (who else is gonna do it right?) when you say going to a movie, does it mean you're comfortable going out on your own now? don't you go shopping too or sightseeing?

I have an online job from 7-11pm. That's from Monday to Friday. I watch movies online. Don't go out to watch the movies alone. I go sightseeing only with friends. I go shopping alone sometimes. That's why i said when i don't go out, i stay at home. Like today. I can't go shopping today because a friend wants me to go with her this weekend. So shopping will be done then. I'm thinking of going to the club this weekend too if a friend would accompany me.

Shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. I can't converse with the locals yet. Been here for almost 5 months and I still find it difficult to understand them. I find tonal languages difficult to learn. That friend is no longer a friend. She told bunch of lies to everybody but was found out later on. Even our boss told me that she doesn't like the way she's lying.

oops, yes, i meant online, bad keyboard. that's the upside of working online, you can still do it even when you change location. is that shopping for food and toiletries? or clothes, shoes, bags, makeup and accessories? what do you do for exercise? can you converse with the locals now? how's your friend whom you first stayed with?

You are a house wife indeed. When I was back home, i never really get to do anything for my husband. We have a house help to do all the chores. But now that i'm in a foreign country living alone, i get to do all the things on my own. Don't cook though.

Hello Toni, I hope that you are fine. I don´t use to wake up late. So the day I can wake up late I try to profit from it, but just one hour, or hour and a half. I´m the kind that if I over sleep I begin having nightmares. So I just try to have one or one a half hour more. Not more. Blessings Toni... dainy

I hate wasting time!! I get up at 7.30am every day, and I am in work by 9am. I work until 5pm, home by 5.30pm, have dinner eaten by 6.30pm and then do everything round the house that night, so by the weekend all I want is a lie in.. to sleep in extra. But every weekend, I wake up at 8am because I feel like I have stuff to do haha!

So good of you as young as that you know are already so systematic. That is very impressive , success is not far from you. I believed no time ever wasted for the things being enjoyed. Life has to be lived to the fullest. We can never have a rewind of it ! Once done then that's it , no delete nor edit !

I think yes, I want to consume my eight hours of sleep and yet I want to enjoy also the rest of the day. My sleeping hours is not good because I usually sleep at 12:00 midnight until 2:00 am in the morning and so expected that I wake up so very late. I just did not enjoy my whole day then.

Hi myloter,I share the same point with you, over sleeping waste plenty of our time. I tried to improve my english skills, especially spoken english and listening. For the sake of achieving the goal,I made a plan that is wake up at 7:00 am,then spend 1.5h to study english. But the fact is I always wake up at 8:00 am,which is extremly disappointing.I do regret ,also ,I almost made no progress in english learning.

All it takes is sleep discipline. Turn your alarm clock on and must be away from you and find the strength to get up. Good luck.

Now that I am older I feel I probably needed it. The only problem is that I might not go to sleep the next night and lay awake wasting more time. I have gotten up and read at times. That tends to make me sleepy.

Hi,toniganzon! Thanks for sharing your story.Seems like your schedule is perfectly managed.I couldn't help asking myself that you don't go out with your friends?I am a pretty much lazy person who has been living a quite unhealthy life when I am staying at home.Maybe it just has something to do with that I enjoy sleeping, oversleeping more.I can sleep for like 12 hours and I know there's someone sleep much longer than me.Anyway,I hope everything goes back to the way it was.

Wow! Couldn't sleep more than 12 hours. I don't have close friends here yet and the ones I met last weekend were new friends and we have agreed to go out two weeks from now. That's the reason why i don't go out. I do go shopping once in awhile.

Hi toni! You seem to have pretty busy schedule and you love to utilize your time, instead of wasting it by any means. I understand that when is sleeping late at night, there is likelihood that he may get up late in the morning. Our bodies need at least 6 hours sleep and when our bodies are deprived of minimum hours of sleep, it affects functions of our body. I usually get on on time and to make sure that I do not take more than required sleep, I use my mobile alarm to wake myself up.

If you do not keep alarm on for other than working days, then if you sleep late there is likelihood of getting up late.

All the time, like whenever I know that I do not have something scheduled for the following day, I can't help but stay up late and chat with friends. I can't help it, I'm at a different time zone now and most of my friends back home are up whenever it is late at night here.

Well you have a fixed schedule and that's good to know. Definitely oversleeping is the waste of precious time but here in this case you had not overslept because you get to sleep after 1 am so you actually completed your required hours of sleep and that is important.

I like sleeping,so I always go to bed at 11 in the evening and get up at 8 in the morning, after brushing my teeth, washing my face and eating a simple dinner,I will go to work.Sometimes I would think it is wasting time to sleep so long, but when I feel tired in the day I would hope to sleep longer.
