I'm sorry even I'm still new here and need to learn many thing but I don't like in some comment that always saying newcomer, it is can be use but only for some part, but the few comments make me feel uncomfortable which it's state something like this "DO NOT ASK NEWCOMER AS THEY KNOW NOTHING well everyone are starting from beginning even the commentor was become newcomer here so please don't make a difference between veteran or newcomer, at least even we are newcomer we still trying to help and having fun here so please think about others feeling before you bring out your statement. Happy mylotting guys!

I never make any such comments.I know newbies are newbies in Mylot only, and here also they are going to be veterans one day,may be in some months.I am not a newcomer here, still I don't know many things relating to this site.I have learned many things, many valuable lessons from newbies here.So I never make the mistake of discriminating them with veterans. They can teach all of us many things about life.

It really hurts. If someone is a newbie here,so what? Why can't he be seen as a veteran in the making?

Hi aqirock! MyLot is a place where you can encounter different personalities. Sometimes, we could get a negative feedback which could affect us in one way or another. Though I agree with you that everyone became a newcomer at some point and no one is can say to anybody that he/she does not know anything but I would suggest that you just ignore those kind of comments. Just share you ideas or whatever you may want to share and if ever you encounter nasty responses or the likes, just leave it alone and continue with your activities. The more you get irritated, the more you will get sort of comments. Have a nice day!

Yes, that is right. The best way is to choose those who you want to interact with so to prevent yourself from getting annoyed. This should be a place for you to relax and learn additional knowledge and not to get irritated. Cheer up! There are many good people around. Thank you for the BR award.

This is interesting. Because in reality there are people here that may have lower numbers here, and be new here with their nick but not new to this site. And why would someone only believe and want to hear just from the established people in here. I am always for welcoming new people here, and look forward to hearing from them and wanting to learn from them. So personally it is up to you what you want to do from here.

hi aqirock I was just thinking that we are never too old to make mistakes and also we are never too old to learn from others and from new comers who bring their fresh view points to the my lot and add more vitality to my lot too.I also welcome new comers here as it keeps mylot from growing stale hi tina I am amazed at how much and how far aqirock has come here. Happy mylotting to you both.

Hi aqirock! Gosh, you have been busy since I last interacted with you and I guess that you are having a lot of fun too! Your statement makes perfect sense for several reasons which I will explain (and I hope that i make sense too ) The first is that just because a user has a low number as their user axtivity rating and appears to be new here, they might well have just opened a new account and could have been here since the very beginnig of myLot. Many users decide to cancel and start agaian. Secondly, just because a user have been here for a long time does not mean that they understand all that we are supposed to do here and how myLot works. I saw a user will almost one thousand beside their name yesterday who scolded a new user, telling them that they had not understood what was being said and then a short while later the topic was deleted. The user who started the topic, even though they have been here for quite some time, had no idea that their topic was violating a guideline. MyLot needs both new and older Lotters. If there were no more mew users then the topic would become stale. the new users bring a breath of fresh air to the discussions and everyone should welcome them and guide them so that they can enjoy their time here. Assuming that they are new and therefore know nothing is absolutely totally wrong though

Personally I don't syaty many but I have had mine deleted too Sometimes you will see a veteran user being nasty to a new user (I am thinking of some specific users in this case) but later, if you check the topic, you will see that it was removed. This is because there are some of us who are aware of users losing their accounts and returning just to cause trouble. Obviously that would seem to be disrespectful (and probably is) but there are some users who just do not understand how things work here and then they get banned and blame myLot for their own stupidity Fortunately they are only a small minority. Have fun and avoid those topics where you see stuff that upsets you!

Yes mysdianait I love being busy in here make me forget about my stressful in real life and yes that's what I'm trying to say here just I'm not good to describe it as good as you do I saw so many people with thousand thousand user rating beside their name but giving that statement, for me it's full of disrespectful by saying like that, and I'm sure about the older lotters also get so much discussion deleted that's mean showing that they still even not understand about this site, well only they know when their discussion got deleted thou, as i say I'm still learning but improve as my discussion not getting deleted for few days only user rating going down as respond to violated discussion lolz well still many to learn here and far way to move.

hi aqirock I am a veteran but I have also forgot some parts of the guidelines and had to reread it before I could safely tell another new user about a certain issue. WE all can make mistakes and as for typos I think I am the reigning queen of typos which makes me so unhappy. I really do try to edit always but sometimes forget.

I am also a newcomer to the site but does that really make a difference. Though I have not come across any of comment saying anything about newcomers but if something like that exists I think it does not make any sense. We are new here just because we were busy doing something else before. Its just a matter of having opinions...We are new here on myLot but not on the earth.

New or old doesn't make any difference to me when it comes to mylotting. The veterans qualified to be called veterans only because they have signed up earlier but that doesn't give them the license to abuse or belittle the newbies. I can see that the newbies are making good progress and given a little bit more time these newbies will excel much better than the old horses who had been galloping here for many years and might have all their thinking cells slowly depleting. New members are a big welcome here to ensure the continuity of mylot and having you people here means new topics and issues are being injected to keep the veterans something to bite on.

That is not nice to say that to any new member with this "DO NOT ASK NEWBIES AS THEY KNOW NOTHING" in Mylot, whoever this old timer is, he needs to apologize to you and ask for your forgiveness and stop being a 'jerk' again, as because someone happened to be one or two years longer than you in Mylot membership does not reflect he know every thing and all things and you know nothing. But don't feel bad about him, there is only a handful of old time jerks like this in Mylot, 95-97% of Mylotters are friendly, smart and considerate people no matter old timers or newbies, that should bring you some relief during your Mylotting. Just go ahead and rate him negative and write him up to the Adm., there is no reason for you to response to him anymore in the future.

Even in internet sites the situation is the same in the real world. There are veterans and when you are a newbie that's a very big deal. You will also feel OP just like in the real world where you don't know where to exactly place yourself in an already established relationship. Everyone starts from newbie but the old timers really have the advantage over newbies. I don't know, I just use mylot the way it is intended and people respond back so I just continue to use even though I knew some may not be comfortable with newcomers. Anyway, this is one of the safe and friendly place in the internet I have found so far. Seems like little bullies around.

there are members who are keen observers and analyze what's going on so they understand how mylot "works" sooner than others, and it does not depend on how long or how recently they have been a member here, how old or young their biological age is, how high or low their user rating is, the color of their stars or the place where they come from and their english skills. i think mylot makes everyone equal, that's why i like it, and i hope it stays that way.

That sounds rather patronizing doesn't it, and I would be annoyed, I am firm believer that anyone, regardless of how long they have been on a site can still learn something new. It shouldn't be an issue, well not to me, I am always open to learn new stuff, regardless of how long the person has been around. Everyone has a valuable contribution to offer Mylot regardless.

I completely agree with you. People can call you a new comer that's fine but there's no need to use it to embarrass or make fun of the person. Everyone at some point is a new comer and people have to remember that. Even the person that started the site was new to figuring out how to start a site and run it. If you think about it everyone is a new comer in many more ways than just on this site and I don't think that they would take too kindly to comments like you have stated so why do that to others.

I'm not exactly a newcomer, but i hardly post discussions i mainly respond to discussions. I have not experienced a phrase of the kind when i began everyone had been welcoming and very nice to me. Well that was 2 years ago. Mylot is for discussions that people can respond with the best of their knowledge to help resolve the issue or aid in supporting a topic. Either way, whoever wrote that to you is very rude. Mylot was not created so that people can write rude and disrespectful things. Which is why you select your interests. If someone does not share the same interests as other fellow mylotters, then they shouldn't be responding to those discussions

This is a long tread. That’s good. Maybe by the time the discussion has wound down you can consider yourself a vet. I think on topics that concern mylot specifically and how it functions the people that have been around for a long time can wear the label, long time vet because they have picked up information along the way. But when it comes to other topics say for example life experiences only the person can really say I am the expert on my own life because that person has been with it forever. So I think it depends on topic. Having said that another way of looking at this is that we being humans are all newcomers since the earth has been around longer than any of us.
