I'm in iceland

Glaciers - Visiting the glacier in iceland.
Canada
February 20, 2013 2:57am CST
Wanted to share a picture from my visit to the glacier yesterday in iceland. We saw where the glacier used to go to only 10 years ago compared to where it is now. It has really melted over the years. Really puts a perspective on global warming.

Impressive. I hope you're feeling better and that the flight wasn't too arduous for you.

I am feeling much better. Not sore anymore just a little uncomfterble due to the stent inserted from my kidney to bladder. Had to take it a little slower than usual for strenuous activities but all in all it did not ruin my vacation.

I've never had the opportunity in my life to see glaciers in my life, but that definitely doesn't mean that I haven't been able to tell differences in the part of the world that I live in as a result of global warming. For example, during this past summer, we had a period of several days in a row where the temperature was well over 100 degrees and that is something that definitely isn't typical for this area. In addition to that, we also used to have one quite measurable snow every winter and that is not so much something that is happening here any more.

Yes global warming is happening. So many people try to make out that it is not happening but it really is.

Glad you made it there and hope you are feeling better. Thanks for sharing the photo, thats a good picture. When you see the difference of where the glacier is now compared to years ago it is scary and alarming. Its funny how so many don't believe in global warming though. I hope you continue to have a great time and look forward to your return with you sharing your experience in Iceland.

It is great that you could visit a glacier in iceland. It would have been worth feeling the contours of glaciers and it would have been a life time experience for you. It is true that due to global warming glaciers are melting slowly but steadily and this is posing a danger to the equilibrium of nature. Hope we people contribute to check the global warming.

It must be icy cold out there. I too hope to visit glacier one day. The photo is really beautiful, great take. There is much actions taken for global warming awareness. I hope all of us will do our part to save mother nature.

Hi wow did you really visit iceland? I love to visit the place from the childhood. But its really difficult as we need lots of money from our country. Hope i will earn that much to visit all the places i want to in future. Yes i heard about the glacier and the global warming which is actually responsible for this melting and we are responsible for this global warming and the bad affects on nature. Hope people atleast now realize this and stop all the harmful activities which affects our nature and us.
