I don't want to go to the official service center because i know they charge quite high. But i don't know which place is good and honest ones with more affordable price. I have searched online and called their store and I was told that the price for changing the fan of my laptop is about $60. My laptop is hp brand. I would go to gilmore tomorrow and would check if it's more affordable in that place.

It's definately costing to match in my point of view.A fan does'nt have much cost. In my opinion it could be around $30 to $35.

But i don't think they do service or repairs. It seems they Ade just selling parts. But its good to know they are selling cheap parts in your place. Are they brand new

Hi, Yeah, its another reason to lambast this laptop-desktop war. By the way it looks, a laptop is a sucker for repair and maintenance, not to mention the high price it carries. I don't mind being chained to my desktop PC as long as I can dismantle and reassemble it at the slightest sign of trouble which comes less often even if I plow my way through Call of Duty for 48 hours straight. A laptop whimpers at the slightest graphic-hungry app being able only to supply a 512 video ram which is the best it can offer with a lot of complaining to boot.

I don't have to spent any money for the repair of my pc. The thing is that, i had just bought my pc just few months ago and the dealer had certified that the services are free for first three years and i am quite happy with it. I think $60 is quite not bad and i would suggest you to go up with it and along with it make sure that you have services less than this but make sure the service is always the best.

Have you searched on the internet to see if you can find step-by-step instructions with pictures or videos on how to replace the fan in your laptop. If you can buy the fan cheaply and do it yourself, or your brother , or anyone who can use a srewdriver, your labour will be free or very cheap at least.

Well, i usually have a consultation first. usually, it's in the small or the local computer shop or computer retail shop. Usually, they can do the repair in one day but it does cost soemtiems, especially if there is a need to buy a part.

Gilmore is a good place to go when in terms of computer parts and repairs, there's a lot of store there whose offering free check up to you laptop then just give the price of the spare parts you need including service fee, so it's your decision if you want to continue or not. Also if you still holding you receipt and warranty card you can go to the HP service center for free service and extra fee for the fan.

I agree, getting a repair shop that can do a really good job in restoring your laptop is not easy. Most of them will take the opportunity to charge you unnecessarily. And since we want our laptops to be fixed, sometimes we just blindingly agree to the price. Then there's the trust issue. Some shops even have the nerve to replace your parts with something else and they take the ones that comes with your laptop. True story, because it happened to my husband's friend.
