When I was much younger I don't usually like to read pocket books. I would usually read like how to avoid hypertension in my youth. About healthy living and other health issues. So I would faithfully follow what I have read like drinking tomato juice, making burger patties out of coconut meat and other things. So I have this interest not because I wanted to be a doctor or physician. I just want to live healthy and learn how to while I was still young. But now idon usually do read maybe because I have learned enough already. My concern is just to continue to live a healthy lifestyle just like before.

I agree with you that it is interesting to read those types of things. That way we are able to take care of our health. It is better to take care of our health this way than to have to spend a lot of money on health issues in the future. The coconut meat sounds interesting. I will have to look into that and see how to make those types of burgers. I think that my family and I should mainly eat fruits and vegetables and get our protein from other foods. The price of meat is so high I would be surprised if we started consuming less meat anyway.

But still needs oil for frying. So I don't use oil now as I just grill my foods most of the time now,, so I don't make coconut meat burger anymore but it's sure a good one

You don't have to give up frying. Just use coconut oil, or olive oil instead. It is healthier for you and gives you good cholestrol instead of bad like vegatable oil.

It is fascinating to learn about health and how the human body works and how it battles sickness. I used to be interested in those kind of reading materials as well. But when I get to the part where the book becomes too graphic I put the book down, lol!

I don't read those kind of books. It's more about health because of right diet or food that gets me interested

Health is a major topic to be sure. With so many different sites now adays on "healther living" "having a healther lifestyle" and with so many different combinations of vitamins to take it is no wonder why people get lost in the process of what is health now. I can remember when they started to say that eggs where bad for you. How they were high in cholesterol and such. But now they say that they are a good source of protien. My thoughts on that is because of the food industry and chemically altering the chickens to make them larger has also made them produce more, so now there is an overabundance of chickens and eggs so why not promote them saying that they are now health for you and you should eat them. it is very confusing. But knowing about health and how to have a healthly lifestyle is different. There is a saying "when in rome". I know that it means that we should never over indulge in our tempations to have that extra slice of cake or that midnight snack due to the older we get the slower our metabolism is. I don't buy into that type of hype anymore. I have gotten myself and my family back to nature and we live a completely different way. I don't use medicines any more. I use essential oils for everything. From growing out my hair, to headaches, stomach issues, joint pains because nature is all around us for us to use. If you really want to live healthy again, and do what is best for your body, the best thing I can say is "get back to nature". Avoid products that have been altered or inhanced with hormones. Buy stuff that is grown organically, buy locally from your farmers markets and such and stay away from the grocery store as much as possible. I am 32 years old and I feel like I am 15 again. I changed my life style and have started to pay closer attention to what I put in it. Anyhoo- this is a topic that I can go on forever about because I have become passionate about what I do for myself and my family. If anyone here is interested in getting back to nature, you can check out my site get-back-to-nature.com

Seldom would younger people be interested in health books, so i salute you for being so. Usually, like me, i took interest in reading health books when i reached my 40's, specially after having my Total ABdominal hysterectomy. T think, you already know what there is to know on how to live healthily, that's why you don't read health journals anymore.

It is so worthy to read anything about Science , it very interesting and learnings can be applied to our daily life. If you feel something bad , then you know some remedies to be given , no need to get panic ! If one really is fully equipped with wisdom and information , he needs not to fear anything because he can give solutions to anything that arises . It pays to read , it keeps away our ignorance and somehow someday we will be able to lead.

hi summer! =) its great to be here in your discussion. =) I hope that you are doing well. There were a lot of things i have read too in the past about improvement of health, and what is best for a certain type of illness, or what you can do to help you stay away from health concerns. I would follow some, to an extent then i would find myself not doing it anymore. haha that is really some great problem for me =( too bad for me... hmp but now i do try to be conscious about what i eat. =) of course i would really want to live healthy. I love reading health books, and trivias (most especially) and share them with my family and friends he he

it is really sometimes tiring to read books for guidance on how you will be fit and live a healthy lifestyle. Just continue on what you have learned from it before and discover easy ways naturally without reading much books. Your motivation on getting and desire to continually live a healthy life is one big start. :) good luck!
