I'm getting excited for my trip to Florida to visit my parents. They are there for the winter so my daughter and I are going to go for 10 days. We will miss my husband but it will be a nice getaway. I'm crossing my fingers that my daughter is good on the plane. She is a little under 2 years old and it will be her first flight. She's flying for free so she has to sit on my lap. I'm just hoping she will stay on my lap during the required seating times and not throw a temper tantrum on the plane! I've got a bunch of snacks, candy, coloring books and dvds to hopefully keep her occupied and happy. Luckily it's only a 2 hour flight.

I assume that you will get a chance to see the Magic Kingdom while you are here. I had a super active little one. I used to talk to her before any event that might get her wound up. If you are going someplace like Disney, you might tell her that it would make Cinderella very happy if she was a good little girl on the plane. Or whoever her favorite charater is will do.
Do not try to take too much on the plane...You will have your hands full and find it difficult to get around. Call the airlines and ask them what to do for the little one when the pressure in the plane changes...This is what usually upsets the little one...You might practice forced yawning before you go. This is the best way to help the little one's ears...
I hope you have a wonderful time in my State...

No Disney for us but hopefully another time when she gets older. We are going to be in Destin. It will be nice though, the pictures my parents send of the beach look great, they are staying right on the water.
I sent a box of our clothes and tolietries to my parents yesterday so I could avoid dragging bags or checking anything in. So just bringing the diaper bag and her little stroller. We keep talking about going in an airplane and we live near Chicago Ohare so we see the airplanes fly over our house everyday. She keeps talking about the planes and Grandma and Grandpa so I think she will be pretty pumped up when we actually go!

She will be good, no worries. You already stocked up so much activities for
her to keep her occupied. Florida .... I went to Orlando, Florida in 2007
and we enjoyed it very much. This place has so much to offer. We went to
Disney World Orlando, Wonder Works, and HolyLand. We have so much fun and
hope to go again. Wish you a great time with your daughter and
parents. Keeps us update once you are back.

I am sure you would have a great time with your 10-day vacation. It would somehow give you a breather from all house chores. I am also hoping your little angel wouldn't make you feel stressed during the flight. Keep safe!

Hi Kemak, I have to say that I am jealeous...I hope you
have a great trip and I am sure you will...Why not, you
are going to be with family...
Enjoy your family and your\
trip...I am not sure you want to give her candy on the
flight..she will probably have more energy that you want
her to have...LOL...take some cheerios or some sort of
cereals...instead of candy..
Goood luck and have fun!!!!!

Thanks I think we will have a great time.. looking forward to seeing my parents!
I'm just going to have her lick on a sucker so she won't be actually eating a lot of candy. I'm just going to pull it out for emergency like if I need to keep her sitting on my lap when we are taking off. She's not one for sitting still so it might be challenging during those required seating times. But I'm thinking her dvd shows we'll watch will keep her seated too.

I have a niece staying in Florida. She likes that place.
I have visited Florida once, quite a fun place. I flew
from New York to Orlando via domestic flight and once the
aeroplane touched down, all the passengers clapped their
hands. This is my first experience to see passengers give
thanks for a smooth flight. Wish you have a great and quality
time with your daughter and parents.
