Hello everyone!
One of the most interesting news that I've seen last night was about this one peso internet which is already available in the market. (For the benefit of those who stays in other country, 1 Philippine peso is equal to $.025.)
This is like a video machine wherein a player/internet user will have to insert one peso coin which is equivalent to 4 minutes of internet time before he/she can surf the net. Although I haven't seen one personally but I was curious about this. This is very affordable so anybody can go to a certain internet shop to play or surf online for only one peso.
What can we do with 4 minutes? Well, we can already update our facebook accounts, do some research and play some games.
Can we mylot with one peso?
Have a nice day everyone?

I think it is fine if the internet cafe is using a super fast connection to get you online, then one peso for four minutes surf time is quite a deal, as long as it doesn't take more than few minutes to go on line and need more than five minutes for Mylot page to load fully into the browser, then i guess it is alright to go mylotting with this one peso offer. If it can get you on-line and have the page fully loaded within few second, then you will have at least three minute to go about your mylottting for a peso only, then theoretically , it is a good deal.

Hi lampar!
Yes you are right. If the connection is super fast one peso for 4 minutes can be a great deal. However, most often internet slows down when many people are using.
Thank you for sharing!

I can bet with you it is a slow connection for this one peso offer. It needs more than four minutes for you to go on-line and wait for Mylot web page to fully load, if you want to go mylotting with it, you must prepare to have more than one Peso in your purse. Ok!

Yes, I think we can myLot with 4 minutes. My neighbour has 2 computers with that kind of business. Being the business-minded person I wondered how much is the capital for that kind of business. Maybe 1 or 2 computers would be cool. It's a hit with teenage boys because they do Facebook and play games quickly.

Oh and I'd also like to add it's better than spending 1 Peso on a rugby plastic which can really be harmful.

Yes depending on the speed of the internet connection. Well, I never seen such kind of machine wherein you would drop a coin in order to connect to the internet. But you are right, it is better than buying those stuff which is harmful to their health.

Hi Aries, I have watched and seen the actual "machine" in news (about a week ago). hehe and well it is interesting because for 1 peso, you get to have 4 minute access to internet. but of course that won't be enough. not even enough to update a profile because loading would be dependent on how fast the internet connection is.
If they would opt for a 30 minute internet access, that would be around 8 pesos only. That is still very cheap, compared to the usual fee of 30 pesos for 30 minutes.
I guess these computer shops are trying to innovate, because cellular companies have gone mobile data and at the comfort of your own phone, you get to browse the internet, about 15 pesos per 30 minutes, right?
See how wonderful the minds of our people in here, its a marketing strategy to boosts yet again these internet shops. =)

Hi chiyosan!
If we will compute the amount of 1 peso for 4 minutes, that would be 15 pesos for 60 minutes (1 hour). If the per hour rate in your place is 30 per hour then having this machine is a better option. In our place, the prevailing rate is 15 pesos per hour so there is no difference.
Yes that is true, they are trying innovate because more people already have their own internet connection.

Hi tkleyr!
Yes, it is. Actually, they just divided the time to make it more affordable but actually, it is still expensive as compared to unlimited internet servce provided by the network companies in our place.

Aries, you are lucky that your country had introduced such a cheap rate for going online. As for my country here, we need to pay quite a high price if we want to go online through the cybercafe. The only alternative way is, owning either a laptop or computer, to be able to go online cheaper. For those on the go, can always use the free wi-fi service in public area. I ever bring along my tablet and use wi-fi service in McDonald's and i really like it. Because the connection is really fast. How i wish my country here would be able to come out with a much cheaper rate for going online since nowadays everyone is using the internet for information and relax their mind as well.

Hi myfb!
Businessmen are constantly thinking of new ways in order to make their business on top. This is one of the latest. But if you will analyze it is closely, you can see that it is just the same as paying for an hour with just a little twist.
We also have wifi areas but there are those who do not have laptop so they would choose to go to internet cafe.

o to four minutes is very little time.
maybe just see if there's something here and enter the Feisa to see if I have messages.
but if some can not afford more for a peso that will be enough.
nice day!
interesting discussion!

It's surprising just how fast 4 minutes will go, especially if you have a slow connection, can you be guaranteed of a fast connection, especially if the internet is being used by a lot of people! When I went on holiday to Rhodes there was an internet cafe I used to frequent, but it was quite expensive and you paid by the hour. If you had to insert coins, you'd have to bring a heavy purse LOL. Or hope that they had change machines readily available.

Hi wolfie!
This is one of the strategies being used in the market today. They divided the amount to make it affordable especially the children. But yes, this is not a good thing to use if intended to work online.

Hi djoyce!
Yes, there are also times when internet is so slow the 4 minutes will consume most of the time loading.
Well, yes this good for those kids who would want to play games and update facebook. If you really don't have money for a time then it is good to try it also.

Hi auntie!
This is one marketing strategy that is being implemented in our place. But if you will sum it up, it is still costly. This is good for children who have one peso in their pockets.
Have a sweet dreams and thank you for participating. I'll send you my angel to watch you while you're sleeping.

Hi tipay!
Yes this is very affordable and a child can already play games or visit facebook for only one peso. So the parents should also guide their children about this matter.

I guess that is a good method or scheme for people who just want to have quick look into their email or facebook or anything else. If you're gonna spend some time online, one peso per 4 pesos might seem worth it. with mylot, it can be possible but I also do many things online and that will exceed 4 minutes at least

Hi jeanne!
Yes, this scheme will benefit those who are only updating their facebook account. But for like us who need a longer time, this is not recommended.

Wow that was nice and very convenient, but for me or for us who've been using internet for so many hours I will stick to my own internet instead but for some which trying to connect online and have important task to do for a sec, min. that was very cool idea. :)

Hi Abigael!
Yes, if you are working online, we cannot rely on this new scheme. We need unlimited supply of internet in order to continue with our online work.

i`ve seen some stores with internet for just one peso but i haven't tried it.. i think it is very affordable specially with students who has limited allowance and need to do some research or homework.. but doing mylot there i think is not a good idea since it takes a lot of time to respond and participate in the discussions here at mylot..

Hi neelia!
Yes this will not be a good option to use if we are going to work online as it will consume most of our time. I personally use unlimited package.

they are really business minded by doing so, I'm sure the operator has the computation of the electric current consumption, and all other expenses related to operating an Internet coffee

Hi teotimo!
The present charge that I know is fifteen pesos per one hour. So if you will divide 15 pesos into 60 minutes the result, 1 peso per 4 minutes.
This is only a marketing strategy to attract more internet users. Business men should always come up with new strategies in order to keep the business growing.
