I really missed Mylot when I was away, and it made me think. How important are our routines to us?
I have a routine every day when I come into work. I make a coffee, check my emails, and start my work. I am a very fast typist, and aside from answering phones, most of my work is typing. It only takes me until lunch time to get through the work that is meant to last me all day, so my afternoons are usually free, and that was my Mylot time!
However, due to my partners health, puppies, and catching up on work I had missed due to being off for various things, including illness of my own, I missed out on Mylot. And my laptop was broken so I couldn’t even do it at home.
It got me really down, and the thought that I hadn’t reached payout, even though I had been so so close to it for like 3 months, was really getting to me. My routine was so out of sync!
How important is your routine to you? Because for me, I didn’t realise just how important mine was. Emails had piled up, things had not got answered. Even my house looked a state because although I was cleaning and tidying, it wasn’t my normal routine, and without my regular pattern nothing seemed to work!
But even now that my routine is getting back to normal, I am actually finding myself tiring very easily, and finding it hard to slip back into it.
What do you think of this?

On the face of it routines may look boring but we cannot survive without them. Our daily needs dictate our routines and that too at specific times. Just change the routine and everything goes haywire. But as in your case external factors influence our life somewhat and we need to make adjustments accordingly.

My routine is out of sync as well. Since classes started, I am not as active here and for the next week, I am dog sitting, which also will take my time away from here..So I can completely relate...

You have to adjust back to your own sweet time, no freedom at all at this stage. Good time!

This happens with all of us.Almost all of us have our routines and we are used to following them everyday, but times come when we have to do something that is not a part of our routine, and then we miss it.Recently I had to go to a city to attend a marriage ceremony and so I failed to participate in Mylot for two or three days.Although we don't like it,but we can't help it.And it has a positive aspect as well.At least for a few days it helps us get rid of our monotonous daily life.Isn't it??

It is but natural you are just human and you need to train back your reflexes on discussions.
