Many times in the past I'd been recruited to become an underwriter for certain insurance companies but I had never taken the bait since I don't think I will understand how these companies work. However, this afternoon, a friend approached me and told me about this good insurance company that is setting up a branch in our city. She encouraged me to join the orientation and seminar. Of course, I said no and gave her the same reason, that I wouldn't be able to pass the exam because I find it hard to understand how it works. But she was very positive and very insistent that now I am considering attending the orientation next week.
I have a lot of questions to myself though. Will I be able to understand the products? I wonder, but I will just try to see how it goes. Who knows?

I also have a friend who has been working at Sunlife of Canada. She really does make good money from that job. And I can see how expensive her things are and she manages to send both her children to exclusive school. I was envious of her achievements coz she was even able to close a deal two years ago that earned her one million pesos! But it isn't the right job for me. I really do not have the knack to speak "flowery words" most especially that I really do not have the interest on that particular thing. So what i would sometimes do is look for possible clients for her and let her have a meeting with them so she takes over with all the talking. She just gives me a commission if ever she closes a deal.

If you really don't want to know all about it, just learn at least the overview of a certain product that you think would catch the attention of a possible client and refer her to your friend. You and your friend just need to have an agreement that if ever this referral signs up, he has to give you a certain percentage. Not bad, right?

I tried that kind of jobs before and not successful into it because of the companies regulation. I made three policy deal but I receive no compensation from the company because the quota must be ten policy per month. I don't have the skills to get people to sign up on their policy because when I read their policy seems not good and I don't want to scheme people to sell something...
Review first their policy before you accept the offer because it's hard to sell those insurance policy with promise to something which is not good for client...

There is only one way to find out my friend, to go along and see how you go, if you go to the orientation and seminar and decide it's definitely not for you then at least you have tried! Sometimes we are just not cut out for things, other times we find in ourselves a hidden talent that has never been explored before. Explore the options and it could be another avenue to discover another talent.

Underwriting is a very good side line if you have a regular job. Also it doesn't require much of your time. It could be an exciting experienced, I know only some make it big selling insurance but if you put your mind to it, you could be one of them.

Just give your best in whatever you want to do or in everything you do and God will do the rest, believe me. Put all your plans in action and you will see the best results.

I am not discouraging you but if in heart of your hearts you are not much interested in this profession, you may not be able to understand its concept. It may not be your cup of tea.
All the best.

If it is a no-strings-attached kind of seminar or training, you can try and see how it goes and attend a day of their orientation. Then from there, you can decide if this is really something worth trying out or not, if this is something that will really interest and benefit you, or if you think it will be just a waste of your time. At least you have known first hand what it's like.

Why not try to attend the seminar and see if you can handle this kind of job. You are very blessed because a lot of opportunities have come your way but if this line of job is not suitable for you then for sure you will learn something about insurance and perhaps you'll know if you need one or share your knowledge about it to other people who might need it.

I will never take selling insurance as my job because i hate this job so much and also i hate people keeping calling me asking about whether or not i need to buy insurance all though every time i told them i didn't need that and if i did need it, one of my best friends worked in another insurance company and i'd like to buy from her.
