Hard-earned money in exchange for a bag

Would you spend your hard-earned money just for a bag? We know that the designer bags like Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Gucci, Coach, Guess, etc. cost much. If you have save a couple of thousands, will you spend it for those bags?

I'd rather spend it on toilet paper cause it would have more use for me. I don't care that much for expensive cloths and accesories. But I believe everyone deserve a little luxury so I understand someone who would spend their hard earned money on Gucci bag. Sometimes I also feel the need to buy myself something that isn't practical at all.

I believe all of us want luxuries in life. However, the amount or level of luxury differs. There are some who can afford more expensive things while others desire to have expensive things even if they cannot afford it.

No, I wouldn't spend my hard earned money on an expensive handbag. $150 is the highest I can go for a good handbag and I can find many well known brands on sales for this price like Guess, Moschino, CK etc. But I can't get a Louis Vuitton for that money, not even a Burberry belt! :P One of my friends has spent a lot of money for Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga bags, her bags cost around $1000 each. But I think I would never save for a whole year just to take a handbag, I would prefer to use that money for travelling or save them for an overseas trip to NY that I've always dreamed! Those bags look beautiful but it was never my dream to buy one, I would do that only if I was making enough money to buy it in a couple of months.

I also do not dream of very expensive bags. I would rather buy gold jewelries for they appreciate in time. Besides , they can be sold or pawned in times of needs.

Not a chance. If I had a couple of thousand dollars free, I would buy something worthwhile and not a handbag that's going out of style in a year or so anyway! (Not that I pay attention to handbag styles... I still carry one from about 10 years ago.) In my opinion, spending that kind of money on something like that is foolish and pointless. There are far more important things to use money for and if anyone has that much to throw away, why not give it to charity and do some good with it?

You said it right. There are other more worthwhile things to spend your money. Thanks for your comment.

No i will not even if i can afford it. I know girls love bags but up to this date i never have bought myself a shoulder bag lest alone an expensive, branded ones. Yeah we see stars being so proud of their collection and it is like part of the whole getup. But for me, i seldom bring bags around me, i am more of a happy go lucky person, less maintenance and i love nature rather than bags or shoes.

No I would not waste my hard earn money, on some stupid bag that cost, over a thousand dollars, when my husband and I use to live in New Jersey, and I went to this store called Bloomingdales it had the ugly purse, in ther cost $300, I wouldn't have given them, a dime for that bag.

There are many expensive purses but doesn't look good. It could be the material used that makes the item expensive. Better not go to that store again.

I am not a vain person. There are some more important things to buy or to put for that money. I would like to invest well my hard earned money, like invest it with business, or maybe go for travelling than spend it for a bag. I can buy a pretty bag without spending thousands. I guess it is pretty much goes to your happiness and contentment in life.

Me too... I would rather invest my money or travel. If there is a pretty good business, I would spend my money there.

hi dorisday if I have saved two thousands dollars the last thing I would do with it is to buy a very expensive hand bag no matter how pretty or fashionable the bag might be. There are other pressing matters to be considered so I would keep that money until I decide just how to use it for the best for me.I would buy a very pretty handbag for thirty dollars and be very happy with it too.I am not one for following fashions as I like to not overspend just for something overpriced like a designer hand bag.

I also buy pretty bags which are not expensive. There are many China-made bags which are very cheap but looks great. They are not that durable though.

Well, I'm not a girl. But I find that to be a total waste of money. I think even rich people have to have rocks in their head to spend tons of money on a pocketbook. What are people thinking? Man. I know some things are worth the money. But that to me is only an accessory. Not good. I would buy something cheaper and believe me, as long as it is taken care of, it will last just as long.

In my case, since I am on a very, very tight budget, I wouldn't spend my hard earned money on expensive, designer bags. I have nothing against people who can afford it though. Besides, there are thrift second hand stores where I can buy designer bags and clothes here. I haven't been able to buy clothes and bags because my sister give me her old ones though. When I was earning on my own, I set aside a little of my income to buy something for myself as a gift. Sometimes, it is for my cross stitching craft that I do when I am at home then. Sometimes, I save for a massage or salon treatment. That was before because I don't have income now

No way. Those bags can cost us our monthly mortgage already. I would rather put it into something more important like the house, food, healthcare rather than those designer bags. Don't get me wrong, I love purses and I would be a hypocrite if I say that I do not want to own LVs or Coach bags, but I just can't bring myself to buy one. Maybe when I am already a millionaire, maybe I will. I think the most expensive bag that I let myself get indulged in is a marc jacobs bag that costs my husband $400. But after that, I promise not to buy any purse for at least a year or two. If I am to buy purses on my own, $35 is my limit.

Yeah, everyone of us wants to own an LV or other designer bags. But it would be impractical for us to buy it if we have other priorities.

Oh no! I would not squander my hard-earned money on a designer bag. I would rather buy a decent bag which does not have a designer label and is cheaper.
