I do a load of hand crafts and ones that require sewing. I was exploring today in improving my quilting and sewing techniques. I ran across an article that I found very interesting and useful for me. I've never entered any competitions in any craft, but if I wanted to enter one in quilting, this would definitely improve the presentation and appearance of a quilt or any type of craft that requires batting and sewing.

I am taking quilting and sewing as well as jewelry making. I figure I can make money selling my jewelry while I spend money on fabric to make quilts and handbags. I did find small things I can make which do not cost a lot of money (by using fat quarters fabric) and they are not very time consuming. I have found a few blogs that have helped me as well as ehow.

I experiment all the time and I like to learn new things through my own experiments. Some of my methods started as a mistake. When I make a mistake I have to find a way to hide it and sometimes the result gets better than my original ide! Sometimes I find inspiration from the things that see on the internet or the things that my friends make. In the past I was a member of a crafts group and we often learned from eachother and inspired eachother. Today I live in a different part of the country and I have left that crafts group, but I would be interested in joining a new one.

It's always great to research and explore new ways to do things. Sometimes just a small enhancement can make a difference, whether it be in your product or in your display.

The only crafts i do are crocheting and k nitting. I started crocheting right out of high school, as I taught myself, and I don't remember when i learned knit. I just recently learned about loom knitting. I didn't know it even existed. I saw the looms at walmart, purchased them a couple of books, and i also have watched tutorials on youtube about loom knitting. I am very happy when i accomplish what i set out to make, especially in crocheting, as I have made quite a few things. I haven't completed anything by loom kniting yet, but i hope to finish a scarf one of these days. I think though, that between the two, I do like crocheting much better, as it goes faster, and it doesn't take all that long to make anything. the last things i made werre baby layettes for two couples in the church as they both had girls, and after that, I made both of them a dress. They were very appre3ciative of it, and it made me feel good that I had done a good job and they liked my work. I am always trying to improve my craft style, as we all have different ways of doing things. Take care, and have a great day.
