In my observation the value of discussion is not as good as what you want to expect. More and more are coming to seek advice not on issue that will make as aware of a universal happening and I hope I am wrong. In my observation, some are in cohorts with others to increase there standing. Anyway some total these are all explained that majority want to earn more money and slim to the issues you want to portray. However I am very pleased to accept and acknowledge the brilliant ideas brought and voluntarily shared and given by my lotters.

I have noticed quite a few people like that as well even people who will posts and not read the discussions just to increase their earnings. I would say many people here are interested in earning and I will admit I am as well. However, I don't really pay much attention to the earnings anymore. I just know that I will earn from posting to discussions that I am interested in with decent responses or in my case at least I really don't mind helping people out with advice. Everyone has issues now and then and some people find it easier to talk to complete strangers than people they know. I couldn't tell you why that is but it happens. It is pretty fun here.
As for your thoughts on people in cohorts with others to increase their standing, I have often wondered about that. I've noticed people complaining about their star rating and at one point just read an old discussion about groups of people lowering the rating of those they don't like. I am not sure if anyone still does it but I have heard about it.
I am not sure what you mean slim to the issues you want to portray. Is that different from when we sign up and pick all the topics we like? I am a bit confused on that.

It means a participant pay little attention to the true topic to be discussed and for him what is important is he / she have written something of which even himself is confused of what to be discussed

Glad to see a discussion going on in this topic now. I am wondering how we should actually rate discussions though. I like talking to people and when I get online I like to have some kind of dialogue going that I've come to expect as engaging, not sure if that is the right word.
However, I also have come to understand that people are very different. Some for example would consider a topic start with comments under a discussion like people in conversation will be quiet but listening. Now while others like myself would like to see a topic extended, develop and evolve some want to stay to the point exclusively. So it varies from person to person.
As for understanding the "true topic" some people might not really understand the topic or want to go off in a slightly different direction and who is to say that is not acceptable?
I do see people "playing" here however and you just come to understand they have little interest in discussions only in making money.

I will give a slight example of issues of concern for I don't want to hurt anybody
" I went to a movie today and after I went home and buy some foods " if not " I just write 345678 that's it, or I buy a beautiful dress for my hubby. Was there a discussions to start ? These topics as the way presented is a mere story of what he did with no value for discussion.

Let me correct you I feel majority here are for money rather than only for discussing some interesting and serious issues ......
Many would just not read the discussion and they simply respond reading the title of the discussion and would write responses which are way of the mark and incomprehensible. Some would just start a discussion and would not come again to post their comments on the responses. Some will start a discussion which is just a narration of their daily activities and events and I sometimes wonder what others could contribute about any other person's daily activities.
Having said that some discussion are simply superb and very informative. Those discussions not only enhances our knowledge they also broaden our vision and it is always fun to be part of those discussions.

I have seen all sorts of people here at mylot, just as you can see in the real world. I am not interested in people who adore money as the most important thing in life, so I don`t talk to them. Some of those people spam the site with their posts, often with very low quality. I try not to get caught in their nets. There are enough mylotters with whom I can talk and have fun and learn. That`s enough for me.

Very good, you can invest by doing things right not by doing it because you are paid for it.

I do agree with you. You would somehow notice how one would respond to a particular post. it was like getting in a hurry to get it done and over with, right? But I guess, some have just difficulty in expressing themselves more due to lack of knowledge of the English language.

Partly your right but what I noticed is the quality of the topic to be discussed is no longer an issue I mean nothing to be discussed at all and how it was answered will make you smile. At least they made us happy.

you said it right! actually the first thing that really draw my attention from mylot is the different kind of exchange of ideas and news from all over from the different places you get informed the trends, happenings and variety of traditions and cultures but then again as you mention mostly respond to it's favor rather than informative discussion, it's been a while since the last time I had an informative discussion

It is all right to make money on mylot, but I address it this way. I have to improve my writing. Yes, I am Canadian, but I did not attend University. I also believe the discussion and the way you write is is important. So I refuse to start a post unless it is something of importance to me and do not answer unless I can help the other person. When I get to finish my novel and get it published, I hope what I picked up here from mylot would help. I am also sure that there are many authors here who maybe started here first.

People are drawn to mylot because it pays to socialize on its platforms. The eagerness to earn more might be one of the reasons the discussions are substandard as people go for quantity forsaking quality. It is unfortunate that many of the good writers have left as they feel mylot is no longer a conducive place for their creative writings. One even told me that they are too many kids running around mylot as he was so frustrated with the classroom like topics here. But again many here aren't writers and I myself is still learning the arts of good writing to captivate the readers attention.

Hello my fellow mylot-er.
Well this is not a literary site nor is it webster's site so it is expected that people come here and create topics on all subjects even if they are sometimes too simple in substance - but then again this is what makes this site great - the ability to post on any subject of choice without fear of being banned for it.
You don't always have the inspiration to find something of value to add but you want to earn money so what do you do then - you start a topic anyway, right ?

I have to say when I first came here it was all about the money and I just wanted to make some income or any type of income. When it came down to the point that I saw I wasn't making much money, then I started to notice that I enjoyed coming here every day and I could just not show up on one day. I think I was a little addicted. Then I left for awhile due to things happening (good things) So I left for a while and during that time away I saw that I really missed it here and so now I am back and can't stay away. I don't even care about the money its just something for me to do to keep me from being bored.
I think at maybe some point everyone came to mylot to make money. But some stay around despite not making a lot of money just cause they enjoy being here. And the rest just drop off.

Some are here just for the money. When I first joined mylot it was for the extra income I could make, however I have found this site to be very useful otherwise. It's a great place for discussion and to get advice. Also to get others opinions on things that you just might be pondering.
I don't concern myself with the income part so much any more as it takes awhile to earn here. I do like to join in some of the discussions or reply to some of the post. There are a lot of interesting topics going on here and I like that. I don't always respond to all the discussions I read because someone may have already said what I was thinking.

Hi Sir!
myLot was introduced to me by a friend as a site where I can earn money, since she did know that I'm a new mom and just staying here at home. At first, yeah, I just focused on the earning but as I've read the rules and agreement here, one thing came to my mind, I can't make the money even just for the payment for my internet bill here. Then, I read some of the discussions here under the topics that caught my attention, until I realized I'm already starting to like myLot not because of the money it may give me, but of how the discussions inspire me. I don't know how to bring a topic on but I've tried, and got satisfied of the the responses. If only the money, maybe I already wrote a lot here. I kinda like and find it amazing to exchange ideas and advice, even some pieces of our story of life to people we are totally stranger to. It feels like having friends from everywhere in the world.

To be completely honest, it was the money that brought me here. I've only been here a day and I've realised that this is actually a good community to be a part of. I don't know anything about the stars and I've not been here long enough to observe any cohorts. Onre thing I do know is that I'm not going to get rich here unless I spend all day posting and that's not going to happen. Like I said, this seems to be a good community where you can get advice and give advice. The money is just an added bonus.

Well, a lot of times people like me are coming here talking about problems in their own lives, and wanting to share and ask for advice. And then times we come here just to talk about things just to talk. I actually have seen many here who do a little bit of both. Just as long as you take time to start a new discussion of worth, and take time to come and respond back to it, I guess there is nothing wrong, as we are able to always choose what type of discussions we want to respond back too.

Oh, you get all sorts here. Some are just posting as much as they can, hoping to earn more. Some are here for the discussions, and only reply to the ones they find really interesting. Some people are here for both.
I am here because I like to talk about my life, and because my friends are here.

I must say I when I first started posting here couple of months ago I was more interested in the money but shorty after I realize that there is not enough money to actually call income. We are all different and after coming to my conclusion that I wont make any real money I appreciate the discussion and has learned a lot and I am still here .
Different things to be earn here and we are all here something and that's just how it is . I have build connection with people here and some people here are even my friends on other sites I love that .

Those who are intersted in the discussion just keep on doing what you're doing. Try not to be bothered by those who have other intersts and less quality. They're only hurting themselves by not using the right kind of quality in myLot. Either they will learn about that or not. Its their choice.

i agreed that some love to earn money and their post is short with low quality and merely just for money and not with the intention of enjoying the discussion. If they are good in posting and at the same time they are enjoying, they will make more money than they are making now. I am posting in Mylot for knowledge at first and secondly my rating and money.

Hi Sir Teo! I am just here for less than a month and honestly, my first reason "was" to earn but as I get along with some posts, it's more of I want to participate and give my insight on topics that I know. I don't normally participate in discussion that I am not much aware of. It's fun being in mylot because I get to read some brilliant ideas. Some are fun, some makes me think much and a lot more. Thank you for sharing your ideas and starting a lot of discussion.Happy mylotting.
