My Fearless Forecast

My Fearless Forecast, on this rainy February day: Cardinal Chito Tagle will be Pope. Why? It's obvious., actually. It is the handiwork of the Blessed Mother. Remember when the Philippines succumbed to the dark ages under Martial Rule, and the Filipinos gradually and quietly sought refuge in foreign lands, not just to deliver themselves from the scourges of evil men, but also to earn income for the loved ones they left behind?, well, that set the migration of this piously catholic brown blood, and into the homes of other races where they served as domestic helpers, or in the hospitals where they nursed the sick and the aged, or in the boats where with the weight of the freight on their shoulders made them call on the Lord for strength, they prayed. The Filipinos evangelized the world through the oracion, the rosary, the three o'clock habit (the hour of Divine Mercy), the countless novenas (as devoutly as they could , to their favorite saints), and the Sunday Masses (their day off). The world, amidst all the sham that we witness today, is ready to fight for good, because the Filipinos had prepared for battle. Now all we need is our leader. Here's a yahoo link, where news has it that this bus boy (meaning he took the bus from Cavite, when summoned in Manila for a Bishops' Conclave, and chatted with the people, believes that humanity's deliverance comes when we humble ourselves and pray. It's people power. Vox populi vox Dei, or simply, the voice of the people is the voice of God. http://ph.news.yahoo.com/philippine-papal-bet-wants-people-power-church-055807607.html

Hiya eileen, Whomsoever gets to be Pope I hope that they have the courage like this last one has had to do what he is doing. Sorry I have not heard of this Cardinal but he sounds like a very reachable person so that would be very good for the Church itself to reach out more to the people. Perhaps we will be seeing greater changes in the future in the Vatican all for the better I hope.xxx

He cares deeply for those tiny voices that can barely be heard, so he listens to the stories of the deprived. But he reaches out to those who err, never judging, always believing that we are all children of God, and thereby ready to embrace even those who commit mistakes and forgive. Such a tender and loving man of God, very humble amd very kind.

Hiya eileen, I have heard of the surname although it is not common here either. Those tiny voices of the helpless people wherever they be some are in your country, some are in Spain and Greece and other countries. If I could vote for him but I cannot so I hope when we here "Habemos Papa" that he is the chosen or at the very least someone like him (en su semejanza). At this time we need people like him inside and out of the Vatican. You describe him so well that I feel like I know him already do you think he is favoured inside of the Vatican? Will keep him in my thoughts and see what I can research on him. See eileen they are saying much here and it is quite surprising it seems that here they do not seem to know anything about anything but I am supposing that they really do even if they donĀ“t say so.xxx

Yes, in humility I pray, and in humility I ask for strength for the new Pope, because he will need it. I was telling friends after that meteor blast in Russia, it is Armageddon time, that's why Pope Benedict XVI is relinguishing the Papacy to a younger and physically stronger Pope.

Hello there! I wouldn't really know. As interesting as the whole thing is. . I can only wish for the people to get the Pope they deserve. I was a catholic... but not anymore. Somehow I am still interested... but no longer hold as much opinion as Catholics have for the issue

The Holy See is the chair of Peter, that rock instituted by our Lord Himself. We Catholics carry on what our Jesus, the Christ, commanded, and we cannot afford to be half-hearted. Many people now are now displaced, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, etcetera, and we need each and every comrade in arms. While many are busy making religion an issue, confusing the people further of Biblical interpretations, we acknowledge the great need for salvation, and thus act on serving our fellow man. We need you, chiyosan, please, get your gear, we need every help we can get.

I can see it is time of change in the catholic Church. For the first time, a Pope will resign. And now, maybe a Filipino cardinal will be a Pope. Let us hope that whoever is elected will guide the chrurch well in these difficult times.

I hope too. Filipinos now are famous all over the world in different fields. In boxing, artists like singers and last time saint Pedro Calunsod. I am praying for cardinal Tagle to become next Pope.

I know, and quite recently, the Duke of Edinburgh is also bullish about the Filipinos in London. The Filipinos couldn't escape the eyes even of a nonanegarian royal, ROFL, am sure, without saying it, he received a tender loving care from our nurses there. Hurray!

I sure hope that your fearless forecast would be true. Although I am not belittling him being a newbie cardinal but I think the cardinal himself acknowledge that he too is overwhelmed with these unfolding to him. So if he is indeed chosen to be the next pope I will surely be one of the happiest person in the world seeing him in Vatican.

Hello Eileenleyva, I don't know there my friend, there's a lot of different forecast out there. in US, they are eyeing on some people form Canada, Europe and Africa, but not asian. besides, i hope this has nothing to do with the filipino pride because it would promote nationalism on my view and not the fact that he is recognized as qualified to lead the catholics through out the globe. the retired bishop and CBCP warns that it would make a great loss to our national community if tagle is to be pope. not to mention he became cardinal only recently within this decade. being a pope bears a huge responsibility.. hope they all pray and chose the right pope before 28.
