what happens to discussions with zero response?

Unless the discussion violates the Guidelines, it remains on the system forever. People may respond to it months or years later, even, or it may never get any responses. It has no effect on your reputation or earnings apart from the fact that it will have counted towards your participation for the day it was posted. You do not earn anything at all when someone responds to your discussion, only when YOU comment on or reply to those responses. If someone sees the discussion and rates it, that may have an effect on your reputation ('star'). Your User Rating (the number in brackets by your name) does not increase when you post a discussion until that discussion has received at least one response and a comment or two responses.

So far as I know,they are not deleted.Instead,they remain there as the property of Mylot.I have never asked this to anybody,but have seen many discussions that did not get even a single response,but are still there.I had once responded to two or three such discussions.They were initiated two or three years back.Thus I realized that such discussions are not deleted.

hi maurya83 We are not penalized for discussion with no responses or just a few responses. they are all kept as if they do get responses the responders will earn for their responses. So no they do not throw anything away. For me by commenting on new responses on several of my own old discussions I can still earn.So lets always keep all old discussions.

Those discussion might not be interest to others that is why there is no reaction or comments from our fellow members. Even if there is no reaction from our fellow members I think it's not deleted unless not violating the rule here. They are still as the discussion...because I have experience such thing before that there is no comments on my discussion at first. Due to that matter I review what the best thing to get reaction so I presume that discussion have no reaction from our fellow because no one here interested in war and or violence.

Yes, I had one started discussion also before which was unfortunately did not caught some attention with our fellow lotters and it was still there in my profile. It was not deleted. So sad but I was not being disappointed maybe it was just wrong choice of title. lol

Although the discussion dont have a responses or only a few responses it will not deleted if it is not violate a rule here. The discussion always open maybe it take some time to get a responses. I also have a discussion which is dont have any responses.

I think it does not affect the owners ratings... except if these discussions were rated negatively. I have a couple of no responses discussion over a page already. And so far they weren't deleted by the admin... they shouldn't be deleted as they are our participation and we have already been paid for those even if the members did not find it interesting. If it is deleted then we would lose the equivalent earning for those discussions. It makes me feel bad and wonder often why there were no responses. Sometimes i read them and see why it is not interesting enough to other mylot. Sometimes i noticed that untagged discussions were the ones that dont get any replies at all.

Discussions with no responses, if they do not violate the Guidelines, are never deleted. If they were worth posting in the first place then why should they be removed? If you want them to receive responses then you could send a PM to those on your friend list with the link to them and suggest that they add a response. When they receive activity they will then go to the top of the lists and they could then become active again if others see them and participate too.

Zero response discussion will be placed in the "No Responses" tab, it will be stored there until someone post a response to it, then the system server will move it to "Recent" tab like the rest of the responded discussions. They have no positive influent on the member earning and reputation, that is all i can tell you.

Nothing much happens due to the discussions that dont get a response. It just doesnt increase our post by one, it doesnt earn us anything and it does not recieve any ratings. Other than that it doesnt affect us. So it doesnt pull our reputation down. And such discussions dont get deleted. I remember that I had responded to a discussion with only a response and after submitting my own response my eyes suddenly went to the corner which tells you how old it is. And I saw it was 6 years old. It is possible that some day someone finds your discussion and finds it interesting and therefore writes on it.

Hi, Frame the discussion topics in such a way that people may get attracted and whoever sees the topic should feel like commenting. We need to think for a while and how relevant the topic is and how can people get attracted to a topic. Sometime I also feel not to comment on certain topics where I feel nothing to write. So, you just think of nice subjects to be selected, brief in short but self explanatory and with an attractive nature may help to get more responses and comments.

A discussion, no matter how many responded to it remains within the site for as long as it meets the Mylot guidelines. It can sometime takes a few more days before other members will add to the responses. So don't worry about it. I also had one discussion which i think only had 2 responses. But it was fine. I guess it was not that interesting enough for the members. No big deal.

A few days back I got responses to 2 discussions without any responses and about 12 months old. It was a nice experience indeed. It may brought me earnings too. I think discussions with no response is treated similar to discussions with responses except it earn nothing.

Hi ! I remembered also i got one discussion that got no response and i guessed that received no earning also . I am not that sure if i am correct but that is the way i understood it . I don't know also if discussions without comments would be deleted by admin or not , like they wouldn't as long as it is a quality discussion. Hope some expert can help us clear this thing.

As far as I know discussions with one or two responses or no response are not deleted if they are within the guidelines. These kind of discussions do not affect (read reduce) your ratings or earnings.

Nothing happens, as many mylotters have told you. But if I were you, and you were specially interested in the subject, I would rephrase it so that more mylotters get caught by your words. Change the title, place tags and you will get responses. And while you don`t earn for other people`s responses, you earn by commenting their answers.

It isw like others that said, that if the discussions meet all the guidelines, they won't be deleted not matter how many responses they get or don't get any. I have had one one discussion of mine that gone just one response, but I am okay with that, as it was a long time ago, basically before i realized how it works in here. i would just hang in there, as you never know but that it might get responses a long time down the road. Users will respond to discussions several years old, if it interesting enough, and they have something to say. Take care, and have a great day.

No, it would not affect our reputation or standings in mylot. Being it still there would mean, that you have not violated any guidelines. I do have some topics too that experienced the same thing.Don't worry, it really happens.

They just sit there on the board. If admin finds they break the rules they will get pulled. Otherwise they just sit there waiting for someone to comment.

I guess it just sits there until someone comments on it.
