How many of us actually shop online?

Online shopping for me gives the advantage of shopping around for different prices on items that I can't find physically close to me. I don't shop online hardly as I used to. The last time I bought something online was last year on Amazon. It was a CD as a gift.

Hi anuraa32, I like booking bus ticket and hotel accommodation online for it's easy and convenient. Further more I can choose my favorite bus seat and room with view. I would purchase books online as well. Yeah, I would order pizza online during rainy day I dislike buying clothes or shoes online for I feel reluctant to buy any of them without trying on them Happy posting and have a nice day

Hi Anura For these last years, I buy online more than two years before maybe i will live online someday too if the situation push me to do that I often shop online becuase i am too lazy to go outside because of traffic jam

I don't think that there will ever come a time in my life that I don't want to go to the grocery store, so shopping online for groceries is something that I don't think that I will ever do. However, I do a lot of my other shopping online. I'll buy toys for my kids for their birthday and for Christmas online and I will buy a lot of things for myself online and I recently also purchased some parts for my car online. I also don't buy clothes online because I like to be able to try those on before I buy and that is not something that you are able to do online.

Just like you, I buy only books and games online. I tried buying a pair of headphones once. It lasted only a week. My family had terrible experience with online shopping. So I prefer to stay away from it. My only exceptions are textbooks and video games. My boyfriend's family is too into shopping online. They have no other option as their city does not have that many stores. But he did tell me that not everything they buy comes out just fine. Sometimes some items need to be returned. That is a big hassle in the sense that to ship them they have to go to post office.

I do shop online for electronic gadgets and accessories. Like today i'm thinking of buying a printer with cash-on-delivery. Some of the online store give heavy discounts on some items some days. So i keep a tab on what i need and buy them on those days of discounts. People should however buy only the things that they need and not everything that they want. And perhaps that's the future you are talking about. Everything online.

I am disabled and have difficulty going to stores to shop. I shop online as much as I can. You can't really see the merchandise, which is a drawback, but if you read the reviews that helps a lot of times. Also,sometimes you can get a deal on the shipping or even free shipping. I have also had a few instances where the items that you can get online you can't get in stores anymore.

Thanks for this discussion Now i am in Hyderabad at my son's home, i bought railway tickets on line for the incoming journey and return journey, i pay electric/telephone/mobile phone bills on line, i bought things earlier on line but got cheated.

For some people like me who live in area where some things are not easily available or perhaps not available at all, online shopping is convenient way that can be adopted. The area where I live there are very few stationary shops and in those shops there are only few kinds of books by which I have no option but to order online from e-shopping websites. And I am convenient with online shopping as they accept cash after delivery and they give some appreciable discounts.

I have shopped online once for garments. They were deliverd to me at home and cash on delivery system is very good. I loved the garment and I had the option to return it if it wasn't good enough. So I was happy doing the online shopping.

I also have shopped online many things like Books ,Clothes and some other little things also.Now a days people are spending their huge time online ,when they get the opportunities to earn online,they also start searching things online which they need.It save their time.But what i have noticed is that things are expensive online than offline.There are more than 50 sites in India from where people could buy.These are sites are growing because people are purchasing from these sites.

I have been into online shopping for last 7 years.I cannot say i am into full fledged shopping. But then around 7-80 per cent of my purchases are online.One of the plus points atleast in my case was i saw better discounts and offers when purchased online compared to when i visited stores.This holds largely true for clothes and electronics.I can see the prices of the things online and make a good decision.I need not go physically to the store and check out things.So that helps in saving some cost as well.Another reason is the time and traffic and inconvenience of driving at odd and peak times.You can get things delivered at your door steps.I do grocery shopping also online most times and did not have any trouble there.But then choices in grocery shopping is less compared to other ones.Sometimes i get more reward points for purchasing online both from card and certain stores.But yes, they are rare though.I have also had home deliveries from restauarants apart from mcdonalds.Again, not everyone or everything is suitable for online shopping.A judicial check on things and understanding what works and what does not is needed when you do online shopping.Plus it should be a trusted and safe site else it would be tough on the consumers.Thanks!

i too had done online shopping. the things that i usually shopped are books, apparels , footwear. but if i compare i usually go for books as in novels as i get each and every novel online at good price and also with ease.

The only things I buy online are from Ebay and Amazon. I love shopping for electronics because you can always find them for much cheaper than anywhere else. I just bought a $120 blu-ray player for $38 and a $600 cd player for my car for $140, both new in the box. You can't beat that. The only bad thing is having to wait for them to ship.

My daughter loves to shop online. That's mainly though because we live in a very small town and she can't really get what she wants here. She shops online with walmart and a few other cheaper sites that offer her pretty good deals. I on the other hand don't shop online unless I have to. I don't like using credit cards online because I'm always worried about who can get that information.

On the contrary, I am a person who enjoy shopping online. Compares to the disadvantages, I found there are more advantages for me to shop online. At first, the price will be less expensive. Second, I can ask the seller many questions about the product I am going to buy. Third, I can read others' feedback so that I can make a decision to buy it or not. Fourth, it is very convenient because I don't have to go out. Sometimes the products I buy may not be available in my area.

I shop online alot when it comes to gift giving. I do about 90 percent of my Christmas shopping online. I also buy birthday gifts for my grandkids online. I order giftcards too. Thankfully I have never had a big problem that couldn't be fixed. I remember two years ago for Christmas I ordered a DVD for my son-in-law and it never showed up. I had ordered of course using my credit card and the company refunded my money to my credit card. I book flights online all the time but I have never ordered food online.

Hi, I have never tried shopping anything online. My dad just buy tickets online. We cant easily trust in online shopping. Infact we ourself cant buy costly things online as we dont trust these website fully. There is still some fear in online shopping. So i think its better to go to the market and shop there. Lol..

I think now a days most of the people ,who spend their maximum time online,shopping online frequently,because the trend is growing rapidly day by day as it saves the time to go to the market and you can do the other work in that time

I have tried online shopping but didn't enjoy it much. It also depends on what are you looking for. Certain things like books, CDs, stationery items, kitchen needs are easier to buy online. But the same can't be said about everything. However the fun and excitement of visiting a shop, checking out different varieties, bargaining with the shopkeeper, touching and trying the stuff yourself can only be enjoyed in real store to store shopping.
