Enjoying my new Samsung Chromebook

I recently bought the Samsung Chromebook and am enjoying it so far. It was only $249 and seems to be everything I need for what I do. I like it because it's so lightweight and small. The only negative I've come across so far is that since it's google chrome based I can only access my files of things online only. So when I'm on the plane flying I can't watch one of my movies in the google movie play if I don't have Wifi. But hoping I'm wrong and I can figure something out. Otherwise seems like a great price for what I got. I didn't want to spend a lot on a computer.

The known information of Chromebook is that, it is a better product with several in built security layers which will make it possible to use as secure machine without any other internet security software. Did you find this in your chromebook? It is much better than other PC with no much security.

MS Windows 8 is with different feature which is making it impossible to download Linux, in your previous comment it is something same. But we can use Linux in a PC with Win-Vista and 7.

The information on Amazon says "Stay connected in-flight With your Chromebook, you can get online at 10,000 feet with free Gogo in-air internet passes. Your Chromebook comes with 12 free passes (estimated $150 value) that you can use over 2 years on domestic US flights." http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-XE303C12-A01US-Chromebook-Wi-Fi-11-6-Inch/dp/B009LL9VDG Check the documentation that came with the machine or contact the dealer or Samsung support.

I guess I will just need to read the Amazon description more in detail... the computer didn't come with much documentation. Thank you! I'm going to look into this more to see how it works.

Looks like this will work if the flight I'm on offers Wifi. My flight doesn't. Still seems like I should be able to access my files offline when I'm not connected though.

You could buy better notebook for $249 and you could install ChromeOS to it. Or dualboot with Windows or Linux so you could able to watch movies in offline mode. The ChromeOS is a very alpha operating system. It's concept a few years ahead of its time. It's impossible to be online everywhere in 2013 with wifi neither with mobile network. And the latter (mobile internet) is quite expensive and restricted solution.
