I ran out of Kidney Care food supplement so I went to this drugstore and asked if they have any vitamins for cleansing one's kidneys. I didn't specify any brand because I wanted her to tell me what brands they have. I must have asked something stupid 'coz I saw the sales clerk smile a bit and went to their in-house pharmacist to ask about what I was asking. She came back to tell me that they needed a doctor's prescription. What? How come I was able to buy these vitamins for kidneys at another drugstore without any prescription from the doctor? And she replied, "Because Kidney Care is just food supplement and not medicine." So I told her I was only looking for some sort of vitamins of any other brand with the same function as Kidney Care, and she said no. So I asked her to give me Kidney Care.
Why should I need a doctor's prescription for vitamins or food supplement? I also asked her for some vitamins for the liver and I got them. For the heart, I bought some quaker oats which I will eat in the morning for breakfast. So now I hope I will no longer experience pains because I am now taking care of my body.
So what had you been doing lately to take care of your body or yourself? Do you buy vitamins?
I know a friend whose mother is already 92 years and is still driving a car. The mother is still doing ballroom dancing. Her mother has a vitamin for every part of her body. She has vitamins for her kidneys, liver, lungs, heart, stomach, etc. Wow!

Hi
Yes its is better to take doctors prescription . I once took the multivitamin tablets without any prescription .The result all of a sudden i started feeling very uneasy and some nausea feeling along with headache. So better don't try like that. Doctors prescription is always good.

Taking vitamin pills without Doctor's prescription could be troublesome. Vitamins should be taken in case of deficiency only.
Vegetables, milk and fruits are better sources of Vitamins rather than pills. However, combination of natural sources and pills is OK. Relying solely on pills is not advisable.

I read in a scientific paper that the only way to give our body the vitamins it needs is by eating veggies and fruits in the right amounts. Most of the vitamin supplements we swallow will just go through it but will not be used by our body.

As we get older we do need to eat right and be sure to take our supplements on adaily basis. At 57 I take a multiple vitamin, ginseng, extra vitamin C because I'm a smoker. I also take a probiotic, some brewers yeast which I add to my food, protein shakes, some wild oil of oregano(an anti biotic herb) and a calcium citrate plus magnesium and vitiman D formula. I think I've seen a doctor maybe 4 times in 30 years.

It's good to hear that Berard. I have only a doctor three times: twice when I delivered my two kids and once when I had a wound from pedicure and the doctor wanted to remove my big toenail and I said no, I only wanted it to be cleaned and he said why should I be better than him, he is the doctor, but I said I don't want my nail to be removed and I stood my ground. My nail is perfectly okay now.

do a youtube.com search for annette larkin or mimi kirk or jim morris, these are all people over 70 who look like they are 30 or 40 years old. They are 'raw vegans', I am a raw vegan, just not a complete raw vegan. I eat mostly raw, but will eat breads on occasion as well as soda. Start looking these people up, and also get a blender and juicer for your health.

I don't understand your health problem, but your friend's mother is really something better. I too have some friends whose grandfather, great-grandfather, grandmother, great-grandmother etc are healthy alive in over 90 years of age, but they hardly drive vehicle or do dancing. Your friend is lucky with such healthy veteran in family.

I have never heard of needing a prescription just to obtain vitamins, they are usually readily available on the shelves and certainly not out of reach. My old doctor used to encourage me to take Centruum Multivitamins, but they are kind of pricey. I have to take to take calcium tablets and that's on prescription, because I have a deficiency.

I get a prescription for my Calcium with vitamin D because I have medicare and they will pay for most of it and I pay a small co pay. These days they are changing so many things about different medications and it doesn't surprise me that you now need one for something like cleansing the kidneys because that sounds like something that could create a problem. I also eat oatmeal for breakfast but only in the winter.

in my opinion, exercise do good to your health, notwithstanding vitamin is requisite for everyone. we can get the vitamin through the daily diet, for example we can get the vitamin through the fruit and the vitamin A from carrot.
