In mylot we have to write quite a lot. So naturally our typing speed increases slowly but surely. When I started mylot, my typing speed was still good but I use to make a lot of typing errors, but now, I seldomly make a mistake while typing and if make a mistake I correct it very quickly using backspace. I type with all my ten fingers and now have a great experience also. Nearly six months.
Usually people typing speed increase when they start chatting but in my case my lot has helped me increased my typing speed.

I downloaded a software and with the help of that software I learn to type with 10 fingers. They helpl you how to type without looking at the keyboard. When you complete all their lesson than you could write without looking at the key board. Then you can polish your skill on mylot. Initially we are very slow but we gain speed very quickly.

hi black rusty many many years back I took typing in high school and we had black blank keys so pretend they are all blank and it really will help you to focus on hand position and not on the keys and looking at them.If I do look at the keys then I will make an error for sure. lol my biggest error is accidentally hitting the h key when typing as I have carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand and it goes partly numb then I bru sh the h accidentally.

Sometime iPhone is better to have mylot discussion. If you experience anything interesting, just go and post it. After few hours we may not be in a mood to write it. In that way we can post nearly 5-10 discussion every day and we can reply to other discussion when we are free.

It has its pros and cons. Its hard to mylot fom a phone especially that mylot doesn't have an app. I wish it had an app. its difficult to type on such a small screen. It is true though that making a discussion is so easy. I wish it really improved my typing speed. But my accuracy is so low. If i type without autocorrect, you'll be surprised as to how different my words are and how messed up they are, you'd think i had carpal tunnel or something.

i have always been fast when it comes to typing. Usually I find myself just lost for words when i am here in mylot and that slows me down. but since my course in college was about computers, and when i work i have worked in call center for 3 years and got to work as report specialist for another 3 years, i would say that typing is part of my life for the last couple of years.. and so since i have to be typing almost everyday, then that sure meant i know my keyboard and i am able to type faster. =)

Than you may really type very fast. Yes that happen to me as well. Since English is not my mother tongue sometimes I am lost for words. So I have to take a pause and think about the exact word that could help me explaining what I am trying to say. Now I have seen small children typing so fast. Since computer is there in every house right from their childhood days, they are able to type fast courtsy of social networking site.

I have been a member of Mylot since 2008 and during that time I have definately increased my typing speed. I have also noticed another change. Now I am able to write without looking at the keyboard. In the past when I took typing lessons I also had to learn to type without looking at the keyboard, and I never became good at that no matter how much I practiced. Now I am able to type without looking at the keyboard and the funny thing is that it was never one of my goals to learn that, it simply happened because I have been typing a lot on Mylot and today my fingers "know" where to find the different letters.

When you have to type a lot, than automatically learn to type without looking on keyboard once you have learned how to use ten fingers. I leaned from a software and polished this skill on mylot.

By looking on keyboard you can increase upto a limit but with 10 fingers typing you can surpass this speed easily. Nearly upto 3 times. There is a software that can help you learn typing with ten fingers. I learn from that software and now typing is nearly super class.

hi thats great as most typing jobs really pay well,I was doing so well til I developed this carpal tunnel thing and now its driving me batty. lol At least now I have had breakfast and my right hand has the feeling back in it so I can type better and a bit faster again too. I need som refresher lessons to pick up speed again just for m y own personal satisfaction,Too old now for typing jobs but then my forte was nurse's aide jobs and too old now for that. But never too old to mylot.,

I learn this ten finger typing with the help of a software. But I polish this skill on mylot. Now I type so fast that I can apply for a typist job. I nearly go upto 55 wpm ie approximately 250 chars per minute. But yes our aim is to get our post error free rather than typing fast with some mistakes. But if we look only on monitor than we know that we have made some mistake and can correct them than and there only using backspace. Cheers and happy mylotting.

I am not really sure, as I haven't tested it lately, but then at my age it doesn't matter anyway. I come into mylot to have fun, and learn from others, and I have been doing just that. All I know is, I sometimes type faster than my brain can think. Hurray for mylot.

When our typing speed is great this often happen, our fingers are faster than our mind. I think we are able to type faster than our running hand writing with hand. That happen when we are lost for words to explain what we are trying to explain. Cheers and have a nice day rosekiss.

Hello
Actually I am a programmer and I have to type long pieces of coding since I was in college. So my typing speed is good because that from starting. But you are quite correct.. As we need to write more on mylot, surely typing speed will increase because of the same. Well, even if someone will start from starting, he/she can surely learn typing eventually by keeping active here.

I am too a programmer and that too have increase my speed but it's here at mylot that have really given me a boost. I also credit that to a software that helped me to learn typing using 10 fingers other wise I would like others who have to see keyboard while typing. Early I was too slow but now I am quite fast.

I type faster and the speed is matching my thoughts, I use only three fingers. I wish I could learn to type using all ten fingers, that way my writing career will indeed take off. The responses mean so much that we forget that we type poorly. I surpise myself by this turnaround in my non-existent typing skills. I make very little typing errors and even if I do I tend to ignore because myLot and mylotters do not haul me up for typos as and when they occur.
Off late I have noticed that I am careful about my typos too and seldom submit my response without correcting my mistakes. Now, that is amazing and I am grateful to myLot for this new trait in my life as a netizen.

Sof yuo are looking at key board while typing. So first you type and then see whether you have any mistake or not. Learning with all ten fingers is easy. You just have to download a software and that will instruct all the basic skills of how to type. I too learn like that. The best thing about ten finger is that you don't have to look at keyboard and just look at your monitor and if you make any mistake, correct it than and there only.
By the way I have neve listen about three finger typing, it's always one, two or ten finger typing.

Yes,in my work, I do a lot of typing tasks and I notice that my typing skills has improved and it is more improved when I engaged in Mylot. But, sometimes I am not active in typing in here because I am still conscious with my grammar and so I check very well my grammar and that makes me slow in typing.

That happen to me. I write fast the whole paragraph and than have to read it again to check whether I have made any grammatical mistake or not. But more than that, I make sure that I have not made any blunder and every one can understand what I am trying to say. There is always some grammatical error in my post. And that have to be because I do not belong from English speaking nation.
Cheers and happy my lotting.

That's good, same here, before I also commit a lot of errors and very slow in typing and my ideas from creating discussions are in moderation in typing and I also found myself good in typing now and faster as ever that's why I type a lot haha just right now. I feel good being around with mylot. Enjoy!

So type more and more and better your typing skills will be. Though I have learned to type with ten fingers long time back but those skills are being polished by the help of mylot. Since we have to type more, so more accurate I am becoming. So thank you mylot for improving my typing skills(from heart...)

Rightly said, Mylot needs a lot of typing. Even I have noticed an increase in my typing speed and lesser mistakes being done now. Regular exposure and frequent typing definitely help. Mylot can serve as a good typing exercise for starters. :)

If we type a lot than our mistake tends to ebb. This has happen to me and this happen to every one. If we stop typing for one month we would see that our typing has decreased too much. Daily typing helps us increase our speed but slowly and we even can't realise that. If we constantly look at the screen while typing than our mistake decreases . Cheers and have a nice day.

I would have to say yes my writing speed has increased a bit and I love that it has. it makes me reply to discussion more quickly than I usually do. When I just started to learn how to type, that is with all fingers, I started much slower than if i type with two or so fingers. But as time progressed I started to move even much faster than that using all my fingers.

Yes, that did happen to me as well. When you start learning with 10 fingers, you type very slow and that tends to distract us from learning that technique but as time passes by you can easily defeat your two finger typing speed and that too without looking. Now a days a lot of software is available that can help you and you do not need to spends bucks learning that skill. Cheers and have a nice day Renhard

I was just a fast typist way before Mylot. I don't want to credit this to Mylot because even as a student I was the fastest typist in our class.

My typing speed is just within the normal speed. Unfortunately, I never learned how to make use of all 10 fingers in typing. I guess, I wasn't listening that much to my teacher back in high school.
