Was Pattinson deadly or was it poor batting?

I thought the three wickets which Pattinson took were all equally due to pace and equally due to inadept batting. Murali Vijay could not bat out a straight delivery which went through him. Yes, the ball was at 150, but at the international level if you cannot bat out a straight ball you do not deserve to be there!! Sehwag was plain lazy and paid the price for not following the path of the ball after he played it down. I think Sehwag in this test match has shown that his hunger for the game is over and should now be shown the door. Probably the most interesting of the three dismissals was the one of Pujara who was batting without any fuss and without any explanation just missed a straight one from Pattinson. In the post match conference he mentioned that he just lost sight of the ball indicating a lapse in concentration. So in essence, yes Pattinson hurled the ball fast, but it was mistakes that have cost India the three wickets so far!!
What are your views?
Cheers!

I think the way he is struggling today shows that there was really no need for India to gift those wickets to him. Today he has been struggling and toiling in the heat. A little more of this and he will have lost significant weight before the final test and would be really weary by the time he catches the flight back to Australia.
Cheers!

I would rather stand beside Pattinson. In my opinion he really bowled well and he deserved those wickets. He bowled with so much pace and not only pace in proper and line and length as well. Yesterday he bowled only 6 overs and in that 3 wickets he took. Of course we can say that that batsmen didn't concentrated well that is why they got out. But it's the ability of the bowler to take the batsmen's concentration away from the ball.

I will say it was the combination of both some lazy batting and some real fast bowling. Actually credit goes to Clarke as he knows that there is not much in this wicket for the fast bowlers so there is no point of exhausting your bowlers. And that is why he used Pattinson in short and effective spells so that he can bowl every delivery with full strength. So far his tactic is working.
Yes the wicket of Sehwag was a pure case of laziness. He should have avoided that ball from going on to the stumps if he was active. No doubt he is a brilliant batsmen but I don't understand why he is not playing his natural game at which he is best. It will be interesting to see how many chances he will get with this type of form.
